You write that you "downloaded", but did you also install it?

If yes, please provide more info: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1195540

I have the same problem, but I cannot install. I am using Mac OS 10.9.2 (Mavericks) with Safari 7.0.2. This morning I got a message while accessing a BBC site that my Flash Player was out of date (11.9.?? I think, you will see why I don't exactly know what it was). So I followed the link to the FP 12 downloader, successfully downloaded (AdobeFlashPlayerInstaller_12_ltrosxd_aaa_aih-3.dmg), mounted and launched the installer (v 3.3.9.0(3.3.9.0)). I selected 'Notify me to install updates' and clicked on Next. It gets about 50% through and then gives me this:

Flash Player Crash.png

I have tried uninstalling my old FP and still doesn't work and now I have re-installed FP 11.9.900 and it won't let me see, for instance, BBC.co.uk live broadcasts (am in the UK) and indeed the Adobe diagnostic tells me I have an out of date version. Everything works fine with Chrome, but I would like to be able to use Safari. What now?
