i Have tried many times to Install Flashplayer 12 on my Vista Desktop using IE9. ( Dont want Google )

Flash Player 12 shoiws in the Programme List , Control Box, but when I try to open  Tom Tom page it tells me that   the Flash Player needs to be newer than Flash 10

I have more than once been through the Adobe Web Site suggestion, and each time even after removal and re-install, the same result. I always install the newer version when it pops up on the screen

Any ideas

Hello Mike

I set to and followed your instruction for a Clean Install. Whe I played the you tube for some reason there was no sound but I could see pictures.

In your instructions I had difficulty finding the bottom two instructions %appdata%\adobe\flash player etc so this may be my problem.

I have sound in every other way on the computer. Its a 32 bit sytem

Still Stuck

Hello Mike,

My settings were set to View All Hidden Files.

I have been through the whole computer looking for %appdata%\adobe\flashplayer. In Programme Files in the adobe\flashplayer Folder is AIR.

I again removed the file folder in Syatem32/macremed, and re -installed flashplayer, then checked out in Tom Tom and up comes the message. I have a screen shot which I will try to embed in forums

Keith

Try this:

Download the following:

Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)

Flash Player Uninstaller

Also, download these:

Shockwave Player Uninstaller

You'll need to install Shockwave with the FULL installer for IE too, but there isn't a direct download for it. You'll need to go to: http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/otherversions/ using IE AFTER everything else is done.

Save all the files and close your browser.

Run the uninstallers first (both of them)

Go to: C/Windows/System32

Delete the Macromed folder.

Open your Registry Editor (Start>Run or press the Windows key + R and type 'regedit' [minus the quotes] and click OK)

In the Registry Editor, go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE

Delete the Macromedia folder (Right click and choose "Delete").

Go to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software and delete the Macromedia folder there too.

Close the Registry Editor and empty your recycle bin.

Run the Flash Player installer, and then the Shockwave FULL installer you downloaded.

Lastly, open IE and go to: http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/otherversions/ to download and install the Shockwave FULL installer for ActiveX (IE).
