/System/Library/Extensions/CUDA.kext
/Library/Frameworks/CUDA.framework
/Library/LaunchAgents/com.nvidia.CUDASoftwareUpdate.plist
/Library/PreferencePanes/CUDA/Preferences.prefPane
/System/Library/StartupItems/CUDA/

3. Re: Premiere Pro CC now crashing at startup, osx 10.9.2
GautamBahl Mar 28, 2014 6:29 AM (in response to ChrisNelson)Hi ChrisNelson,
Is this happening with a specific project or with all the projects.
When you open a project click on file>Project settings>general and check for project renderer.
If it is on OpenCL change it software only and then try to work with your project.
Thanks

bwalkerproductions Mar 28, 2014 10:10 AM (in response to ChrisNelson)Hi Chris,
I had the same problem this morning after updating to Mavericks and the newest CUDA driver, and I stumbled upon your thread. Premiere would crash at launch, and I tried uninstalling, etc. The solution for me at least, was to step back to the 5.5.28 CUDA driver. Now everything opens like it should.

vooray1 Mar 28, 2014 10:27 AM (in response to bwalkerproductions)I am on MAC OS X 10.9.2 and having the same issue. I can't seem to find the library or systems folder and don't know what CUDA is. Can you give me a step by step on how to get there? Thank you!

The (user) Library folder is hidden. Press Option, then choose Go > Library. A system folder is basically your Mac HD, which has a different Library folder (for the whole system).
Hope that helps you find the files.
Thanks,

7. Re: Premiere Pro CC now crashing at startup, osx 10.9.2
ChrisNelson Mar 28, 2014 5:32 PM (in response to GautamBahl)The project was already on the "software only " setting, soi OpenCL is not the issue.
The crashes thend to happen after I try to create another sequence. Is there a maximum number of sequences that Premiere can have open before it panics? Could that be the issue? I am also dealing with a multicam sequence ( as well as a few regular ones). at no point did I have more than 6 sequences open at one time.

8. Re: Premiere Pro CC now crashing at startup, osx 10.9.2
ChrisNelson Mar 28, 2014 5:59 PM (in response to ChrisNelson)I created a new sequence and changed the scratch disk setting. It was telling me that the usual place where my projects were saving to was now unavailable ( "an unknown error occured"). This is to an external drive, where the video files are also stored. The files seem to run fine right now, as is Premiere now that I saved the project to the desktop. So Premiere can read the files, but not write to the drive.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the program does not crash again, but I can't start saving all my projects to teh desktop.
Any new ideas?

14. Re: Premiere Pro CC now crashing at startup, osx 10.9.2
ChrisNelson Mar 28, 2014 9:13 PM (in response to mvpeters)I haven't even tried to export yet, so I'll let you know if any problem's arise. But there is definetly something buggy happening, I just don't know if it's Premiere or osx 10.9.2 that is causing the problems.

15. Re: Premiere Pro CC now crashing at startup, osx 10.9.2
mvpeters Mar 29, 2014 7:44 AM (in response to ChrisNelson)Hey Chris,
I found out what the problem was that I was having. I have about 400 still photos on my timeline and they are all way to big for Premeire to render them out quickly. I read the Premeire instructions on how to prepare still images (size them to your time line which in my case is 1920x1080). Most of these photos are well over 4500x3000 and higher. Premiere is having a hard time rendering those images.
Are you working with still images?

Kevin-Monahan Mar 31, 2014 9:49 AM (in response to ChrisNelson)Hi Chris,
Installing OS X 10.9 permissions can sometimes be set wrong. That could be your issue. Check out this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5888042#5888042
Thanks,

ChrisNelson Apr 1, 2014 5:54 PM (in response to mvpeters)I only have a dozen or so stills, none if them huge. So I'm affraid we might have a different issue.
