CS6 glitch, Image of layer missing

    lesouthy13

There seems to be a strange glitch with my photoshop. I am a photo retoucher and work on a copy layer over the original. Something happened where I just lost 3 hours of work. The copy layer still shows in the layer panel but for some reason shows zero information in my image. I didn't change the opacity, blending mode or anything. And I didn't flatten anything. All I was doing at the time was using the quick selection tool. There are no strange actions in my history panel either.

If I hide the background layer the image shows transparent even though the copy layer is visible. The image shows in the layer panel but not the image area. I saved as a new file and tried to open the original (I have the auto-save option) and the layer is there but not the image.

I have been using photoshop for 10+ years so I know I didn't click on anything strange. This happened to me a week ago as well.

Has this happened to anyone before? I can't include screenshots as this is work for a client.
