adobe shockwave and flash

I am trying to download adobe shockwave and can't.  I've uninstalled my virus software and still can't get it installed.  I need to get it so I can get my computer protected again.  I upgraded adobe flash and doin't know if it even works.  Please help me.  Thank you.
