Matt M Johnson Apr 10, 2014 11:24 AM (in response to jcwoodphotography)Here is a workaround for this issue:
1. Open OSX's System Preferences
2. Click on 'Sharing'
3. Enter your computer name in the Computer Name field (current name will be displayed below <computername>.local - just remove the .local and put it in the Computer Name box)
4. Close System Preferences
You should be able to log in.

Brode2 Apr 10, 2014 11:38 AM (in response to Matt M Johnson)Perhaps the problem is that my computer does not show a name. Below the edit window it just shows “.local”. Can I assign it a name by just typing a name in the edit window?

46. Re: Getting sign in error for LR Mobile sync on desktop LR5.4
Matt M Johnson Apr 10, 2014 11:43 AM (in response to azarinelli)It's probably best to avoid it being .local in the Computer Name field as that makes your machine name local.local even though this is unlikely to matter for most things (it makes it no less accessible).
For the purposes of this bug, what matters is that the Computer Name field is not blank.

ralphdaily Apr 10, 2014 12:25 PM (in response to Matt M Johnson)I'll just wait for Adobe to fix the signin problem. It's not like LR mobile is that important. I don't want to risk changing the computer name and it messes up my cloud backup or something else.

48. Re: Getting sign in error for LR Mobile sync on desktop LR5.4
Matt M Johnson Apr 10, 2014 12:41 PM (in response to ralphdaily)If it currently says below the Computer Name field 'Computers on your local network can access your computer at: <computername>.local' where <computername> is not empty, there is no risk in putting putting <computername> into the Computer Name field.
If it is blank (and just says .local below), I suppose there is some risk that it breaks something but anything else that is trying to use it is also failing to get this name when they ask for it and I expect the risk is very, very low.

49. Re: Getting sign in error for LR Mobile sync on desktop LR5.4
Brode2 Apr 10, 2014 12:42 PM (in response to ralphdaily)Assigning a computer name worked, I have access, but…….the first screen, second paragraph that appears right after sign on states that all synced collections and all photos therein will be made available to all LR Mobile users. Sorry, but that is a complete turnoff for me. My images are mine unless I make them available to someone else. Unless they modify that, I’ll stick with Photosmith.

Matt M Johnson Apr 10, 2014 2:41 PM (in response to Brode2)Mike,
Can you provide a screenshot of the terms you're seeing that indicate that? I'm not aware of this.
As far as I know, these are the terms you should be seeing: http://www.adobe.com/misc/terms.html

Brode2 Apr 10, 2014 3:22 PM (in response to Matt M Johnson)Sorry, seems to be a one time show the first time you log in. I tried deleting my computer name from the system shared folder and starting over, but now that it knows me, it won't let me go. Now, even with a blank computer name, it recognizes me, so I can't see that screen. I'd probably have to reinstall LR5.4. Is that msg not true? What are the privacy guides for LR Mobile? Who can see or access my photos in the mobile cloud?

53. Re: Getting sign in error for LR Mobile sync on desktop LR5.4
Julie Kmoch Apr 10, 2014 3:35 PM (in response to Brode2)Mike, I bet you're referring to one of our 'help tips' in Lightroom (desktop). You can see it again from the Help menu > Lightroom mobile tips. What we were trying to explain was that by marking collections for sync, you will make them available to other Lightroom client applications, not other people. Those other applications are currently the iPad app in the App Store and a new website at http://lightroom.adobe.com. You would still need to sign into those other apps with your own Adobe ID & password to see them. They are yours.
I see now that our helpful tip needs some help, so we'll reword that in the future to make that clearer.

Brode2 Apr 10, 2014 3:47 PM (in response to Julie Kmoch)Thank you, Julie. Whew! Much better. I have worked a bit with the interface and a few photos, and like the editing capabilities a lot. Am I missing something in that I don't see an ability to make local adjustments or gradient adjustments? Also missing keywords, star ratings, etc..

55. Re: Getting sign in error for LR Mobile sync on desktop LR5.4
Julie Kmoch Apr 10, 2014 4:21 PM (in response to Brode2)You're not missing anything. This is a starting point for us. It was an extremely challenging exercise to boil Lightroom down to the essence of manage-edit-share so that we could nail the basics and not overwhelm the limited real estate on a mobile device. I see someone has started a request thread at http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/lightroom_mobile_feature_request_cus tom_sort_order_ratings_and_keywords
which might be a more visible place to raise requests for the future.

Brode2 Apr 10, 2014 5:48 PM (in response to Julie Kmoch)Julie,
Bravo Zulu (great job) on your opener. It's interesting the different approach to workflow taken by your team and the Photosmith app. You approached from the editing side, while they approach from the sorting/rating and keyword side. They seem to feel that a photographer in the field primarily wants to view, sort, rate, and apply keywords in collections, later syncing with LR at home for editing. Personally, I like to do quick editing on a few select images, and save all the rest on or after import to LR. Looking forward to your updates.

Matt M Johnson Apr 14, 2014 6:48 AM (in response to Fichemil)Fichemil,
Do you have any firewall/proxy configured that might be preventing you from accessing https://api.adbecrsl.com or https://ims-na1.adobelogin.com?

grosmi18 Apr 17, 2014 10:36 PM (in response to Matt M Johnson)Same problem here, with or without firewall or proxy...
Followed all recommendations, no joy. I can connect on the iPad, and to all other Adobe products from the Macbook Pro but this one...
15 minutes later...
Found why... actually it is not "any name" you should put int the blanck field of computer name...
Initially I had no name there. I wrote one but it made no difference on Lightroom.
For whatever reason I noticed that on the tab "distant session" there was a name appearing, allready there.
When I typed that name on the computer name blank field then it worked out...
Not sure this is very clear but whatever... ;-)
Best regards
Grosmi

Fichemil Apr 25, 2014 4:22 AM (in response to Matt M Johnson)Could fix the problem for me. It was the TCPBlocker. It was tricky to catch as the program wasn't installed any more. So I had to install it back and then select deactivate the blocker after that you can deinstall the programm again.
Now everythings works fine. Thanks to all.
