Document covers assigned Right side, have all translated to first page left side in the PDF conversion.
Save as PDF

Save Book As

reset my PDF settings

and it won't print to PDF, crashed the system every time, so nothing going there.

Each document set up, recognizing that all chapters start on the right, including the cover.  Formatting in document and book.

This is a new problem, I don't know what happended, but making the starts on the left, throws off the entire technical document.  The documents are correct in FM, just not converting properly.

Please help.

I can't seem to fixe it from Acrobat Pro 9, or from within FrameMaker11

This is highly frustrating.

Thank you for any and all input.

To expand on Arnis's question -- you said that each document is set up to

open on a right page. But the component files in a Book are controlled by

the Book settings -- the book trumps individual files' settings. So right

click the component files in the book window and look at the Pagination

settings.

Second, if you can't print to the Acrobat printer, there's something

critically not right in your system setup... but you may want to delay

fixing that until you get the pagination issue resolved.

Book settings are good and correct
In Frame Maker it shows correctly

it is when turned into a PDF that it decides that the first page/cover should be first page interior

Perhaps it is an acrobat issue?

This was not a problem last week.

IT re-built my computer, all things are running better, but then there is this new and exciting problem to deal with.

*sigh*

I will keep hopeing.

Can other applications print to the Acrobat printer?

Have you tried opening all the files in the book before printing the book

to the Acrobat printer (not using SaveAsPDF)?

I have just tried to print from Frame Maker, rather than to save then save

as PDF

Save as doesn't work.

And Print doesn't work

each causes a full system crash

So

Back to my IT dept before I go any further.

Thank you.

How are you determining that the first page is "interior"? There is an Acrobat setting "Show Cover Page in Two Page View" that affects how things are shown.

If your IT department installed FM and Acrobat using the defaults, then there is a good chance that the PDF Creator (a dumbed down Distiller) stomped all over the Acrobat Distiller installation.

I am getting the impression it is the Acrobat side,

Excepting I can't print to PDF or to Printer, either a book or a document

from FM.

Probably the easiest way to fix it is to see if PDF Creator was installed.

If it was, uninstall that, reboot, then install Acrobat again.
