Uploading stills giving odd clip length for time laps.

I'm putting together a timelapse movie with about 6K stills. I have them gathered in groups of 600. They're all about 4 megs. I'm taking them into a sequence at 24 fps. Why is my clip coming in at about 6 sec's? Then another group of 600 stills coming in at .04 sec's??? Driving me crazy. I'm a photographer and total nubile in Premiere, so, go ahead and laugh but please let me know what the hell's going on.

Ram is allocated @ 9g so that's not it. I see my post getting quite a few views, doesn't somebody have something for me?

Are you bringing them in as stills, or an Image Sequences?

I'm bringing them in as, I guess sequences, thought it was clips. Where you open a folder, select the first image, then check the box that says something about grabbing them all.

Does the latest PProCC still have problems with using "many" large pictures?

To the OP (Original Poster) if Jim answers "yes" to my question, read below... if he says "no" just ignore this

Some of this is from the Premiere Elements forum, but the idea of sizing pictures is the same for PPro or Encore
Pictures that are "overly" large may cause video editing problems

When you bring them in as a sequence, and yes, that is what the check box does, then it comes in using the data you provided in the Indeterminate Media Timebase. If you want them to come in as 24fps make sure your settings look like this, or select the 24fps setting if you really want.

Are you sure you don't have numbering issues - maybe some missing? That will throw off the sequence import.

The one that is .04 seconds is probably only a few frames.

Thanks to all you guys, and Steve, you hit it! Didn't realize the numbering was doing it. This is a 7 month long timelapse and when the Gopro went over 10K images I had to start batch renaming files, and, I've also deleted some dead space. So, I've got lots of numbering issues I can clean up quickly in Bridge.
