1. Re: Loss of quality?
Ann Bens May 1, 2014 1:00 AM (in response to Tim Flippance)No smart render, so yes the whole clip gets re-encoded.

2. Re: Loss of quality?
Tim Flippance May 1, 2014 8:14 AM (in response to Ann Bens)So does the whole film lose quality all through? What is smart render?

3. Re: Loss of quality?
John T Smith May 1, 2014 8:49 AM (in response to Tim Flippance)That means that the program is "smart" enough to not re-render anything that has not been changed

6. Re: Loss of quality?
Tim Flippance May 1, 2014 5:25 PM (in response to John T Smith)Thanks for that. It seems to be saying it only works for MPEG-2 not for H.264? Also will it work in CS4? Is that right?

7. Re: Loss of quality?
Ann Bens May 3, 2014 5:58 AM (in response to Tim Flippance)No CS4 does not provide smart render for any format.
Mainconcept used to have a smart render plugin for mpeg2 but I dont see it on there site anymore just for cs5+6.

8. Re: Loss of quality?
Tim Flippance May 4, 2014 3:24 PM (in response to Ann Bens)Is there any way I can do smart render without buying CS6 or other expensive software? MPEG-2 or H.264 are both good.
