2. Re: Photoshop "disappeared" after working with it...
TanBrae ** May 6, 2014 9:35 PM (in response to kglad)Sorry, I was annoyed and tired when I wrote my question.
I am using OS X, the newest version. My Mac is Intel based, so that should not be the issue.
I tried the download that the Adobe support person sent to me, and that does not work, either. Now, none of the products are actually installed. Not sure what is going on, and why, after it was working, it "disappeared".
I'm looking in the Applications folder (default for Mac's installed software). The Adobe folders are there, but, they are not the "usual" colors - the PS is a light blue, instead of the royal blue, the Flash folders are not the correct colors.
The Dreamweaver folder is there, and I can click on it to open, but it won't open.

4. Re: Photoshop "disappeared" after working with it...
TanBrae ** May 7, 2014 11:44 AM (in response to kglad)No go.
I don't get it. I reinstalled on the old computer, made sure to deactivate on ALL the software that gave that option, then uninstalled the suite. So, it should be uninstalled and deactivated.
I tried, AGAIN, to install the suite, to no avail. I get some folders with the names of the softwares, but there are no actual installation files, apparently. The major programs (DW, PS, Illustrator, etc.) will not open.
And, of course, Adobe, in all their greed, refuse to support CS5, and will not give me any answers. The link that the "support" person gave me did not work, either, for the download and install.
Guess I'm in the wrong profession. I refuse to use their "Cloud" and pay every year when I read of so many designers who are still using 2, 3, and 4! With no problems!
I have even gone so far as to call Apple support to see if "maybe" there is some issue with my computer. Right now, I'm trying to install, again, in a different user to see if some how there is an issue with that. Per Apple's support tech.
I don't know what else to do, so if anybody here can give me more suggestions, I'd be glad to try! I'm losing valuable work time.

6. Re: Photoshop "disappeared" after working with it...
TanBrae ** May 8, 2014 4:37 PM (in response to kglad)Yes, I did, thanks.
Okay, we took both computers to the Apple Genius bar yesterday. They transferred files from my old computer to my new. All well and good, except, I really wanted them to just wipe the hard drive of the new, and start fresh. The reason?
Well, while on the phone with Apple support, after trying a few things that did not work, he suggested I create a new user account. I did that, then installed my suite. It worked! So, the question is, WHY did it work in the new user account, and not my account? Again, I deactivated the suite, uninstalled it, and tried installing it on the new computer, in MY account, but it would not go.
Any ideas? I'm losing a lot of work time because of this.
