1. Re: How do I import an image sequence into Edge?
resdesign May 14, 2014 11:23 AM (in response to DrMontague)Right now the only way is to import your files in Fireworks and then use the fireworks plugin to import in Animate.

2. Re: How do I import an image sequence into Edge?
DrMontague May 14, 2014 11:37 AM (in response to resdesign)How do I bring the images into Fireworks? If I have to bring them into Fireworks one at a time I might as well bring them into Edge one at a time. This is a major feature that should have been in Edge to begin with. I can not believe someone overlooked this.

4. Re: How do I import an image sequence into Edge?
-Rodney- May 15, 2014 11:53 PM (in response to DrMontague)I don't see it now but before there was a similar topic that stated long file names kept sequences from being identified.
Not sure if that is the case but should be easy enough to test.
If I discover anything I'll try to remember to post the solution here.

-Rodney- May 15, 2014 11:54 PM (in response to DrMontague)I should have said... I have been importing animated gifs into Edge Animate today.
So I know it works.

6. Re: How do I import an image sequence into Edge?
-Rodney- May 15, 2014 11:58 PM (in response to -Rodney-)For the record, my gif files were named 'image001.gif', 'image002.gif' etc. where each file was a series of animated images.
Naming my files with trailing/padded zeros is a habit that has worked often.
Replace the word 'image' with something descriptive as necessary.

7. Re: How do I import an image sequence into Edge?
-Rodney- May 16, 2014 12:08 AM (in response to -Rodney-)A quick follow up.
I didn't have any issue importing an animated gif with the name 'imagewithareallyreallyreallyreallylongnamebutnosapces.gif'.
I DID have a minor issue with importing an animated gif named 'imagewithareallyreallyreallyreallylongnameandone space.gif'.
However, Edge Animate notified me that the file contained characters that weren't allowed and replaced the name with an underscore.
So, no issue here with gifs that are already compiled.
At a guess I'd say there probably is a way to get image sequences into Edge Animate but I cannot confirm yet.

8. Re: How do I import an image sequence into Edge?
DrMontague May 16, 2014 8:32 AM (in response to resdesign)I have installed John Dunning's Export to Edge but I do not see it anywhere in Fireworks. Do you know where it is?

9. Re: How do I import an image sequence into Edge?
DrMontague May 16, 2014 8:56 AM (in response to DrMontague)Okay I have found the John Dunnings extension in Fireworks. My next question is how do you get the images from an image sequence into Fireworks? I hope it can be brought in as a batch and simply exported to Edge.

11. Re: How do I import an image sequence into Edge?
DrMontague May 16, 2014 10:37 AM (in response to resdesign)Thank you for responding! I have created a number of sequence png's from my
3D program. A total of 8 to test. How do I import them into Fireworks so
that they are all imported and are in an individual state layer as you
recommend above?
Thank you very much!
