Workbench ES3 fails to connect via VPN

Win 7 enterprise

Workbench ES3 v10.0.2

Server:

Adobe LiveCycle ES3 v10.0.2

Oracle WebLogic 10.3.6

Oracle Enterprise Linux 6.5

Workbench connection through VPN fails during Synchronize execution with "Error writing request body to server". Log shows the following error;
