After a file crashes, I reopen INDD, and there is no prompt to recover the document. So I go to the folder, open the document, and I get the recovery prompt. However, it only offers these three options:
But I don't want to do any of these things. I want to recover the document now. None of these options recover the document. "Yes" and "Cancel" are essentially the same thing - they are both postponing the recovery until later. "Cancel" deletes the recovery data completely. Not what I want. Am I missing something or misinterpreting something?
That seems abnormal to me -- you normally get those options after autorecovery also crashes -- but I seldom have crashes in ID, and none so far in CC. I'd try trashing the prefs. See Replace Your Preferences
That said, I suspect the recovery data is also bad, so you might want to just go ahead and click an option so you can work.
