When I connect my camera through firewire and I start capturing video, the system automatically captures on mpeg-2 format, in previous versions of Premiere I was able to pick the format in which I wanted to capture the video but in this version (Premiere Pro CC) I havent been able to find that option. It would be convenient for me to capture all the footage on ,mp4 because I will share the footage with another editor who is requesting .mp4 videos. Thanks
All versions of Premiere Pro have offered only two capture options natively, DV files and MPEG2 files (from HDV cameras). To get any other choices, you'd need to add third party I/O cards like those from Blackmagic, AJA and Matrox. (Though I'm skeptical that any of them have ever offered MP4.)
