cgrscott May 23, 2014 1:32 PM (in response to cgrscott)I always end up being the person that answers my own support questions. I made a control model test. I installed Mountain Lion on an external firewire drive, connected to my 2008 Macbook Pro. I installed Acrobat 11 Pro on the external boot drive with no problems. So, I may end up nuking and paving the internal hard drive on my Macbook Pro and then making Acrobat 11 Pro the first software installation on the machine.

Rave May 26, 2014 6:58 AM (in response to cgrscott)Hi cgrscott,
I have seen this issue occur if you have improper permissions to /Library/Preferences/com.adobe.PDFAdminSettings.plist file.
Could you please take a backup of the file and then try deleting this file and then start the installation?
Regards,
Rave

cgrscott May 27, 2014 3:40 AM (in response to Rave)Thanks for your help, Rave. I tried your suggestion and that did not solve the install problem. I even ran the uninstall for Acrobat 9 Pro and then I reinstalled Adobe Reader 11. But, I can't get the Acrobat 11 Pro installer to finish an installation on my Macbook Pro. I'm going go ahead an reformat my internal hard drive and re-install Mountain Lion and Acrobat 11 Pro.

Sabian Zildjian May 27, 2014 9:33 AM (in response to cgrscott)If you haven't already formatted your drive could you post the install.log file? You can grab the Acrobat pertinent portion of this file from the Console.app.

cgrscott May 29, 2014 8:49 AM (in response to cgrscott)Greetings, Rave and Sabian.
I resolved the Acrobat 11 Pro install issue without reformatting my Macbook Pro's internal hard drive. I reinstalled Mountain Lion on top of the existing Mountain Lion installation.
I reinstalled Lion on my '07 32bit Mac Pro, about a month ago, and it resolved a lot of issues. So, re-installing Mountain Lion on top of the existing Mountain Lion installation was the fix to get the Acrobat 11 Pro install to complete and also eliminate some other system bugs I was having.
After using Acrobat 11 Pro on my Mac Pro, for over a week, I have to say it is a huge improvement over Acrobat 9 Pro. I love having the tools and commenting tabs over to the right of the window and using the top menu less. It makes scrolling through PDF pages and comments two separate activities, allowing the screen refresh to be much quicker and better.
Acrobat 11 Pro is a great version!
