Action to use to Restart a course

    ziofonta222 Community Member

      Hi,

i need to set an action on a button on the result slide of my course, so that clicking will take the user at the beginning of the course, resetting the quiz attempts.

Basically the structure we need is to allow 3 attempts on the final quiz (and i got it setting it on preferences), and after the 3rd failed attempt, to show up this button "restart course" to force the user to take the course again from the beginning.

      any help?

      thank you

In your preferences/quiz/ pass or fail settings you can enter 3 attempts, show retake button and set the action to jump to slide 1.

If this doesn't do what you want you may need to execute javascript to clear some of the SCORM settings.

Is this course being launched from an LMS?  If so then you should probably direct the learner to exit the module normally after their third unsuccessful attempt and then relaunch it again from the LMS link.  (You will need to ensure the LMS is set up to allow multiple attempts on the module, as the number of attempts allowed by Captivate only applies to the number of attempts allowed on the quiz EACH TIME the module is launched.)

If you have only allowed three attempts on the quiz, just jumping back to the first slide after three unsuccessful attempts will not automatically reset the quiz for more attempts.  The Retake Quiz button will only appear on the Quiz Results slide for each unsuccessful attempt PRIOR to the final allowed attempt.
