Can't update flash on Mac

I have tried at least a dozen times to update Flash on my Mac.  It says it's updated, but when I go to try to use it, I get the 'update' screen again!

What gives?

Ask in the appropriate Flash forum; this is the Reader one.

Uninstall Flash Player and download a new copy. http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer

Technically, you can download and install without uninstalling.
