There are 2 versions of Flash player -one is the ActiveX one used in Internet Explorer and the other NPAPI one that is used in other browsers.
It's the later type that you need to install for the portfolios to appear.

gwoity Nov 19, 2014 3:04 PM (in response to Pattrizzia)I found a solution... use Google Chrome, not Internet Explorer and go to the Adobe web site. Search for Flash Player. Install the Flash Player from there. I can now open the Portfolios fine!!!
