    CC downloader stalling

    geigreg Community Member

Trying to upgrade to latest version of Edge Code (which will hopefully resolve the Chrome Live Preview issues). But it gets to 42% and stalls. Have tried 3 times with the same results. Stall at 42%. I really want to sue this app but may go back to my BBEdit.

I haven't heard of any reports of that. Make sure that you have the latest Creative Cloud app from: https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud

On which OS are you trying to install Edge Code -- Windows or Mac?  The "stall" that you're experiencing might be due to a hesitation in the install process, rather than the download.  I think the CC application progress bar reflects both steps.

If you're using Windows, you might want to try first uninstalling any previously installed version of Edge Code, using the Control Panel - Programs and Features panel.  Then, quit and re-launch the CC application from the "Adobe Creative Cloud" shortcut.  Finally, try installing the latest release of Edge Code from the Apps tab.

If it still seems to stall in the middle, you might want to give it a few minutes to see if it progresses on its own.  Depending on your system, sometimes certain steps of the installation process can take a while -- eg. as the installer gets permission from the Windows UAC to make changes.  During this time, you might not see the progress bar advance for a while.

            Hope this helps,

            Bryan

I restarted my Mac and the installer ran fine. So probably an OS issue.
