1. Re: InDesign CC Update Failed. Error U44M1P34
Roberto Leal Jun 13, 2014 9:15 AM (in response to dlehne)It appears many of us are having this issue. Solutions vary as it appears different things work for different people. At the moment I am left with the unfortunate possibility of uninstalling the entire Creative Cloud and then running the CC Cleaner Tool to fix this one issue. Have you tried any of the suggested solutions?
Though it could be that Adobe will fix all these issues with their upcoming release of Creative Cloud next week Wednesday.

2. Re: InDesign CC Update Failed. Error U44M1P34
dlehne Jun 13, 2014 9:54 AM (in response to Roberto Leal)Thanks for the reply, Roberto. Yes, I saw that the official answer to the generic U44M1P34 error is basically to blow away every speck of Adobe product you have and start over from scratch. That's not a reasonable answer. Not for you, not for me, not for anyone. And it's hard to believe Adobe folks would find it acceptable, either.
I was sort of hoping the additional specifics from the log file and the information that I have used the default folder structure for Adobe's products would help narrow things down a bit. I don't mind helping a company track down a glitch. Anything as complicated as CC is bound to have them. I do mind being told to do a huge amount of work to get around what's probably a small problem in a product update.
We'll see how Adobe responds to this apparently wide-spread problem. In the meantime, no update for me.

Jeff A Wright Jun 13, 2014 3:33 PM (in response to Roberto Leal)Roberto Leal have you utilized any system optimizer which may have removed the installed language files for English US?

4. Re: InDesign CC Update Failed. Error U44M1P34
dlehne Jun 13, 2014 3:54 PM (in response to Jeff A Wright)Jeff, I think this question may have been intended for me since I wrote the original post. The answer is, no, I have not done any sort of system optimization that removed or altered the language files for English US. I'd be happy to look to see whether the files are in place, but don't know where InDesign keeps its language files.

5. Re: InDesign CC Update Failed. Error U44M1P34
Jeff A Wright Jun 13, 2014 4:00 PM (in response to dlehne)Ahh great point Dlehne. I was reviewing the error you posted. If the language files are missing such as the error which Dlehne posted in message #1 then a reinstall will be necessary to restore the files.
Roberto Leal you can find information on how to check your installation logs, to see if you have a similar error, at Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cc.html.

6. Re: InDesign CC Update Failed. Error U44M1P34
Roberto Leal Jun 13, 2014 5:19 PM (in response to Jeff A Wright)Jeff: I have checked the log and it shows a similar error:
"FATAL: Payload 'Adobe InDesign CC x64 Application Language Files_9.2.1.101_AdobeInDesign9AppLang64-en_US 8.0.0.15 {35937D37-6FF2-1014-BDC2-9CD1656E73E4}' information not found in Media_db."
When you say a re-install do you mean a complete reinstall of the entire Creative Cloud? Or do you mean of the single software? If it is only the single software then I have already done as such and still experience the same issue.

7. Re: InDesign CC Update Failed. Error U44M1P34
dlehne Jun 13, 2014 6:09 PM (in response to Jeff A Wright)Jeff,
Hmmm. Since Roberto and I both have the same error in entirely unrelated installations, it seems to me very likely that there's a glitch in at least some situations in the update to InDesign CC. Doesn't that seem likely to you?
I note that both of our installations appear to be on Windows 7 64-bit. Perhaps that's a clue? Would it be possible for you to ask "up the chain"? If there's a widespread problem with Windows 7 64-bit upgrades of InDesign CC wouldn't it be better for everyone -- Adobe and its customers alike -- to find a better solution than "uninstall everything you ever bought from Adobe and start over"?

roberti99 Jun 15, 2014 2:46 PM (in response to dlehne)Just throwing my hat into this ring because I'm having the same issue on a Win 7 64-bit computer. I've removed InDesign, and re-installed it, but as soon as it tries to run that last update, it always fails.
It might be an issue that will be resolved in a future update, so for now, I'll ignore this update and keep working!

gert verrept Jun 16, 2014 3:41 AM (in response to dlehne)@all
I've the same problem. I re installed Indesign and I'm now stuck with version 9.0. Any other updates fail with the same error. Indesign CC is installed in the default location for Windows (win 7 64b home edition). Strangely, all the previous updates went well, I had version 9.2.1 up and running when I tried to update to 9.2.2. Because of the error message I followed the instructions with the result that I'm stuck with version 9.0. At work, installations are in the same folders running win 7 64b Enterprise, no problem since all was already updated.
Maybe wait until 18 June.

10. Re: InDesign CC Update Failed. Error U44M1P34
Jeff A Wright Jun 16, 2014 7:55 AM (in response to Roberto Leal)Roberto Leal a removal and reinstall should restore the language files as well as apply the additional updates. It will dependent though on what other files might have been removed when the language files were removed.

11. Re: InDesign CC Update Failed. Error U44M1P34
Roberto Leal Jun 16, 2014 1:53 PM (in response to Jeff A Wright)Updates are still not possible despite reinstalling the software. I ended up uninstalling the Creative Cloud Desktop and any trace of InDesign 32 & 64 bit versions from the computer. The only positive outcome was that the 64bit version was functional once again so I won't bother with the updates. I'll see what improvements are made this coming Wednesday to the CC, maybe they will have a huge update that these smaller updates won't matter.

Nat Brown Jun 17, 2014 5:17 AM (in response to roberti99)I'm with you.
Same OS and reinstall here. Spent a couple of hours working through the threads with this same problem. No joy.
Back to work and wait until it is fixed in a future update.

Pandorica Jun 17, 2014 5:44 AM (in response to Nat Brown)I've solved it using the method detailed in the post above. Seems that installing the 9.2.1 and 9.2.2 patches manually works.
Reinstalling failed for me as well.

I hope that Adobe find a solution for next updates....

21. Re: InDesign CC Update Failed. Error U44M1P34
Jeff A Wright Jun 17, 2014 10:15 AM (in response to Roberto Leal)Thank you Roberto. As an alternative another solution has also been offered:
- Uninstall Adobe CC
- Sign out of the Creative Cloud Desktop application
- Quit the Creative Cloud Desktop application
- Open the Creative Cloud Desktop application and sign in
- Install InDesign CC
Apparently it would appear the updater inventory files are being removed. This is what is leading to the U43M1P34 error being generated.

dlehne Jun 17, 2014 11:38 AM (in response to Pandorica)Thanks, Pandorica, your solution worked for me, as well. Thanks very much for working on it.
I supposed Jeff's approach would work, too, but the first step -- uninstall the entire Adobe CC and start over -- is quite a kicker.
