Hi,
I want to change the name that appears in the title bar for my generated chm file.

How do I change the text that appears in the title bar. I've tried File>Rename Project and File>Project Settings but changing the titles here doesn't affect what appears in the title bar...

Thanks in advance for your help

Go the "Window Caption" field in your window's properties. This is set by deafult when a project is created but is not changed if you rename it.

Hi simpromtech

Expand your Windows pseudo folder and change the field labeled "Window Caption". Then re-compile the .CHM.

Cheers... Rick

Don't worry Rick. I'm a long way away and we've had new inter-desk partitions put in so no one here can see me now either

Oh no! You mean they put you out to pasture in the ole "Cube Farm"?

Man, that is ONE huge thing I do not miss about the corporate world.

How is this done using Conditional Build Tags? I have many different conditional outputs for HTMLHelp, and I need to be able to have the title bar reflect the conditional output I want to generate. I do hope I don't have to go into and change the Window caption before I generate each different conditional output!

Hi marjoriem

I believe you might be able to accomplish your goal as follows.

Create multiple windows with the captions set as you like.
Now edit your different HTML Help layouts and for each layout, choose the desired window.

When you compile your help, the window title should change to reflect the desired name.

Cheers... Rick
