smittypanda Apr 18, 2014 12:42 PM (in response to Preran)Hi Preran,
I don't have any extentions or anti virus software as mentioned in the thread.
I also went to http://localhost:9235/ and nothing showed up.
I have version 0.97.0-359084144 installed.
Any idea's on how to fix the problem?
Thanks!

Peter Flynn (Adobe) May 13, 2014 10:14 PM (in response to smittypanda)Hi,
What version of Mac OS are you on? Make sure you have 10.7 or newer.
It sounds like part of Edge Code might be crashing on startup. There may be a crash log saved on your system:
- In Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder... in the menu
- Enter ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports
- Look for a file that says "Edge Code" in the name (or just launch Edge Code again, wait for the blank screen, and then look for a freshly-created file)
- Please send these files to us to investigate. You can put them in a .zip and email them to pflynn (at adobe.com)
Thanks for your patience!

bchinTX May 15, 2014 10:50 PM (in response to smittypanda)Hey, Amanda,
By your initial post, it sounds like Edge Code did work correctly for you at some point, and then it started experiencing this issue?
If you don't mind, could you please try resetting your preferences and restarting Edge Code. To do so, please follow these steps:
- Close Edge Code
- From a Finder window, open ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Edge Code CC and delete the entire contents of this folder
- Open Edge Code
Please reply and let us know if this helps.
Thanks,
Bryan

smittypanda May 16, 2014 12:48 PM (in response to bchinTX)Hi Brian,
Edge Code did previously work correctly.
There actually wasn't any folder for Edge Code CC in ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe
So, I tried creating an empty folder named Edge Code CC and then reopening Edge Code but that did not work either.
Any other thoughts on how to fix this?
Thanks,
Amanda -

bchinTX Jun 10, 2014 3:34 PM (in response to smittypanda)Hey, Amanda,
Just to double-check, did you check for a folder named "Edge Code CC", and not something like "Adobe Edge Code CC"? Unfortunately, the otherwise helpful screenshot you posted didn't scroll down far enough for me to see where the E's would have started. :-) Anyway, I ask b/c the application creates that folder pretty early in the launch process so it should (theoretically) exist there somewhere.
You should also try our latest version of Edge Code which we recently released. You can install that latest version using the Creative Cloud desktop application. Click the CC icon in the OSX menu bar (at the top of your screen) to open the Creative Cloud application window. Click `Apps`, and then click the Install button next to Edge Code CC.
Hope this helps,
Bryan

smittypanda Jun 17, 2014 10:46 PM (in response to bchinTX)Hi Bryan,
Both folders "Edge Code CC" and "Adobe Edge Code CC" don't show up in ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe so I don't know why it isn't there if it actually should be. Perhaps that is somehow related to the problem? It also seems as though I have the latest version of Edge Code installed but I am still stuck with the white window.
I don't know if this is helpful or not but I am also unable to select the "Preferences" menu in Edge Code.
Thanks for your persistence,
Amanda

bchinTX Jun 18, 2014 2:25 PM (in response to smittypanda)Hey, Amanda,
Thanks for the screenshots and thanks for your patience in trying to resolve the problem. I haven't seen Edge Code hang so early in the startup sequence such that the menus aren't even yet populated or enabled. Also, previous reports of the "white screen" on startup are usually corrected by just deleting the 'Edge Code CC' folder.
I know you mentioned above that you've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but perhaps you could do so one more time, now that Edge Code Preview 8 has been released. Consequently, can you please try the following steps on your machine to clean and then install the latest Edge Code?
- using Finder, go to your Applications folder, rt-click 'Adobe Edge Code CC.app', and click 'Move to Trash'.
- using Finder, go to '~/Library/Application Support/Adobe' and double-check whether you see an 'Edge Code CC' folder. If you do, delete it.
- from the Finder menu, click Finder > Empty Trash... and completely empty your Trash
- restart your system.
- after your system restarts, click the Creative Cloud icon from the OSX status bar to display the Creative Cloud window.
- click on the Apps tab, find 'Edge Code CC'. Click Install.
After it installs, try launching Edge Code from your Applications folder, and see if it works this time. Please reply to this thread and let me know what you see.

bchinTX Jun 19, 2014 8:53 AM (in response to smittypanda)Excellent! Thanks for letting us know.
For our future reference, did you find (and delete) the 'Edge Code CC' folder this attempt? Or, was it the uninstall and reinstall with the latest version that resolved the problem for you?

12. Re: Blank White Window
smittypanda Jun 19, 2014 9:33 AM (in response to bchinTX)It was the uninstall and reinstall that fixed it. I was never able to find an 'Edge Code CC' or 'Adobe Edge Code CC' folder.
Thanks for all of your help!
