40. Re: Help with old extension. Old meaning CC vs CC2014.
tracyvalleau Jun 19, 2014 8:36 PM (in response to gaperklake)Of COURSE it's someone else's fault. It ALWAYS is. Just ask any programmer. This is Adobe! They don't make mistakes!
(I offered my logs, but no one from Adobe seems interested. Afraid it might actually show whose fault it is?)
There is no excuse for this, frankly.

Carl Sun Jun 20, 2014 2:09 AM (in response to tracyvalleau)Hi everyone,
I just got confirmation that Flash-based extensions are no longer supported by PS CC 2014. Refer to http://blogs.adobe.com/photoshopdotcom/2014/04/photoshop-spring-cleaning.html. Sorry for that.

Carl Sun Jun 20, 2014 3:33 AM (in response to tracyvalleau)More details here: http://blogs.adobe.com/jkost/2014/06/installing-the-2014-release-of-creative-cloud.html
And here: http://blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/2014/06/2014-release-of-photoshop-cc-faq.html#plugins (scroll down to "Why don’t my 3rd Panels show up in the 2014 release of Photoshop CC? What happened to Oil Paint, Mini-Bridge & Kuler?”)
There is a new Kuler HTML5 panel available on Add Ons: http://adobe.ly/UgxQSN

Greg Forcey Jun 20, 2014 5:29 AM (in response to Carl Sun)Interesting, once I installed the Kuler extension as mentioned by Carl, I was finally able to see my other HTML5 extensions in Photoshop CC 2014. But before I did that, Photoshop CC 2014 did not recognize them as installed.

45. Re: Help with old extension. Old meaning CC vs CC2014.
premdharma Jun 20, 2014 6:06 AM (in response to Greg Forcey)Same here with Kuler.
After installing it, "Extensions" is no more gray, but all other extensions I use in PS CC are not there, for example
Adobe configurator panel or Adobe exchange.
Are this all flash-panels and not HTML5 extensions?
Somebody from Adobe reading here?

cruizer1 Jun 20, 2014 9:33 AM (in response to Greg Forcey)getting more convinced that extension problem is totally related to absence of Flash..Kuler now works and I was just notified that MagicPicker for colors is being updated to work with new PS CC 2014

47. Re: Help with old extension. Old meaning CC vs CC2014.
valkroth Jun 23, 2014 10:31 AM (in response to cruizer1)cruizer1, you're correct. It seems a great deal of old extensions were Flash-based. You know, Adobe Flash. I think in the long run the new HTML5 extensions will be an improvement, I just wish that Adobe would have given more of a heads up for the developers.

48. Re: Help with old extension. Old meaning CC vs CC2014.
kariloumc Jun 23, 2014 11:14 AM (in response to valkroth)I agree Valkroth. And since extensions are vital to my workflow I am unable to use the latest version of PSCC, which is the benefit for which I pay a monthly subscription. Will Adobe refund that cost until PSCC 2014 is fully workable? This is pretty BASIC, folks. To tell us that you have a new product with exciting new bells and whistles BUT some of you can't really use it yet .... Why weren't extension developers made aware in advance so that their products could roll out with this upgrade? I'm very frustrated.

Carl Sun Jun 23, 2014 7:20 PM (in response to premdharma)Adobe configurator panel and Adobe exchange are Flash extensions.

50. Re: Help with old extension. Old meaning CC vs CC2014.
Sclark Jun 24, 2014 1:08 PM (in response to Carl Sun)At this point I'm at the level of HATING ADOBE! This update to CC 2014 and not notifying anyone that Extension Manager will not work with any Extension with the exception Adobe Kuler (a worthless extension by the way) is one of the most unforgivable things I have ever had to endure. I have been down for 2 days unable to get anything done work wise. This disruption has wrecked my workflow. There is no documentation on how to get everything reset back to the CC versions of all apps. I have gone through online chats with support as well as on the phone and both instances are "well that's all we can do."
I was also told that the only extension that you will be able to load with 2014 is kuler. If you want to use other extension you will need to downgrade back to CC versions. I have now downgraded everything but my Extensions Manager hangs on everything and won't install. I'm Pissed to say the least.
There is almost no way to understand what is going on in the background of my computer. At this point I am uninstalling and reinstalling apps and previous versions and restarting my computer over and over.
I think I deserve a refund for this months subscription fee.

51. Re: Help with old extension. Old meaning CC vs CC2014.
cruizer1 Jun 24, 2014 1:42 PM (in response to Sclark)I feel your pain..although I'm not impacted as much as you...I did find that Color Picker has been rewritten in HTML 5 so that it also now works in CC 2014 in case you have a use for it....perhaps other developers will rewrite their extensions as well...I'm not sure that Adobe has any appreciation for the harm that they've caused...nor do they care much since their the only game in town....this is making the OnOne Suite much more attractive since it does almost all that PS can do, although third party plugins are not available for it....at least its far less costly and their support it great....( I have no connection to OnOne....just sayin)

52. Re: Help with old extension. Old meaning CC vs CC2014.
Jonathan Ferman Jul 2, 2014 3:00 AM (in response to premdharma)Configurator panels sadly do not work in Photoshop CC 2014 as it generates Flash panels which do not work in Photoshop CC 2014 release or later. You need CC 2914 compatible products and the best way to see those is to use this URL https://creative.adobe.com/addons?pp=PHSP&ppv=15.0&locale=en or simply go to Photoshop CC 2014, open or create a new file and then go to menu Filter > Browse filters online which takes you to the Adobe Add-ons website and directly to Add-ons for Photoshop CC 2014.
I hope that helps a bit.

53. Re: Help with old extension. Old meaning CC vs CC2014.
SCS05 Jul 2, 2014 7:06 AM (in response to Jonathan Ferman)I have tried pretty much every direction that Adobe has put forth so far. I have downloaded CC and all the 2014 apps multiple times. Un-installed them multiple times. Deleted all the hidden preferences multiple times. Have tried installing extensions with the extension manager that only sits and spins and freezes and can only be stopped by force quitting. I have tried installing add-ons from the website directly, from the extensions manager, from the apps themselves by going through the Filter gallery. Nothing works. Your product sucks. Thanks for wasting an entire week and a half. Oh and if that's not bad enough it's not just one machine that this is happening on it's all my machines with different licenses.

54. Re: Help with old extension. Old meaning CC vs CC2014.
Jonathan Ferman Jul 2, 2014 7:11 AM (in response to SCS05)I'm really sorry to hear that. It's really strange, out of interest have you tried syncing files from the Creative Cloud folder on your computer? We use similar technology to install Add-ons and that did seem to work for you to be able to install and use the Kuler Panel.
One thought on the apps not working, did you try this cleaner script to get rid of all your apps and preferences:
http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html
I am probably clutching at straws here but thought it was worth asking.
Thanks,
Jonathan

55. Re: Help with old extension. Old meaning CC vs CC2014.
Sclark Jul 2, 2014 8:28 AM (in response to Jonathan Ferman)I have cleaned my system several times. I am running this on a laptop with an administrator. Do I need them to run this the first time as an admin?
I have found other forum strings that talk about the EM log. I have a log in there that just says:
[Warning] Wed Jul 02 11:01:47.596 2014 (ExchangeAppHook.cpp, 116) -onSignIn: Journel event came before sign-in finished! Or get entitlment flag is set
I have downloaded the CC and cleaned everything so many times nothing is making sense at this point. And I just need things to start working again.

56. Re: Help with old extension. Old meaning CC vs CC2014.
Jonathan Ferman Jul 2, 2014 8:33 AM (in response to Sclark)i would definitely run the cleanup and install as an admin level user that should blast away any files that should be removed and install the new ones correctly. It may help explain some of the issues you have been having, it's not certain but yes I would definitely get an Admin to do the removal and then install the apps. This may also be creating issues for Add-ons as some Add-ons require an admin password because of where they install files to or how.

57. Re: Help with old extension. Old meaning CC vs CC2014.
Sclark Jul 2, 2014 10:15 AM (in response to Jonathan Ferman)I am able to install apps as a user. The IT dept. hates supporting Macs so they pretty much allow self install. But I can swing by and see if them doing one at the admin level does the trick.

58. Re: Help with old extension. Old meaning CC vs CC2014.
Jonathan Ferman Jul 2, 2014 10:25 AM (in response to Sclark)I make no promises but given all the issues I see no harm in trying at this point...
Hope it goes well, fingers crossed!

59. Re: Help with old extension. Old meaning CC vs CC2014.
Sclark Jul 2, 2014 11:36 AM (in response to Jonathan Ferman)OK. Figured out the problem. But don't have anything fixed.
The problem is that the extension manager needs to have my computer Admin Account Access in order to install new extension into 2014 apps. Something was changed with the EM.
My computer is a work computer owned by my company and IT has the Admin account controlling the computer. I have access to install apps but Extensions uses an unrestricted part of the system. I went to my IT dept and they logged in, we opened up EM and installed a couple of new extensions and then switched to my user account and they were installed.
Do you have any advice as to what my IT department can do to give me permission to install extensions as I need them through my user account?

60. Re: Help with old extension. Old meaning CC vs CC2014.
Jonathan Ferman Jul 3, 2014 5:17 AM (in response to Sclark)Hi Sclark,
In terms of advise, I would first mention that not all Add-ons need admin privileges, so for example zip files going into the Downloads folder and various other products such as images should not require admin login however that is a generalisation because I have no idea what your IT team has locked down in terms of locations on your computer so the above could be wrong. My suggestion to you would be to acquire the Add-ons you want when you want and if they install and can be used, then great. If not you will need to speak to IT nicely and get them to install but hopefully that will be an infrequent requirement.
Hope that helps a little bit...
Jonathan
