.aep file doesn't work in Premiere Pro CS6

    yoyo_sensei Community Member

      Hello all,

This is my first time posting, so bear with me if there is an obvious solution here.

I created a name tag (as for an interviewee) in After Effects that would slide onscreen and then cut out, featuring the person on screen's name. I imported the name-bar from illustrator, then animated it (with text) in AE, then imported the complete composition into PP. This worked for one PP project, but when I try to import the same .aep file into another PP project, the composition doesn't appear.

In the project bin, I can view the file in the Source Video and it works perfectly. As soon as I add it to the sequence, it stops working completely.

Can anyone think of any possible reason why this might be so? It's driving me insane.

Well, not quite insane, but I'm sure you get my meaning.

What do you mean by 'stops working completely'?

A screenshot with a detailed description of the issue symptoms may help.

Here's everything -- I have all my necessary files uploaded into the top left section (for future reference, what is the area called?)

Then I run the file through the source video, and it works just fine:

I haven't included the full title, for personnel reasons, but you can see that it works just fine here (middle section). However, when I apply the file to the timeline, nothing appears:

So, I've added the file to the timeline and nothing happens. In this screenshot, I haven't rendered the video effects, but doing so hasn't changed the outcome thus far.

I've tried this exact method of adding a name tag to other videos with perfect success. So, I don't really have any clue what could be going on here. Any suggestioms?

Sorry for the late response. I just got back to my computer today.

            Thank You!

A stupid question: your dynamically linked composition is 720 x 480, but what are your sequence settings? Any chance the frame is smaller, and your lower third is simply off screen?

P.S. That top left section is called the Project panel.

                OH. MY. GOD.

You're absolutely right. I guess it's true what they say -- the devil's in the details.

Thank you! I've got it all figured out now. Very, very much appreciated. This is a mistake I shan't make again.
