Chris Cox Jun 21, 2014 4:02 PM (in response to amzu1)Install your third party plugins for CC 2014 -- though you might want to check and see if they have updates first.

SteveOrthPhoto Jun 25, 2014 2:08 PM (in response to Chris Cox)There used to a setting in Preferences (or someplace) that allowed you to point PS to your 3rd party plugins. I cannot find that in CC2014. And reinstalling a dozen or so plugins individually is an extremely tedious and time consuming task, especially with needing to check for new installers, finding old license keys, etc etc.

gener7 Jun 25, 2014 2:29 PM (in response to SteveOrthPhoto)If you moved to a new PC or Mac, you would have to do that anyway. Set up a folder with your plugin installers and serial numbers for these events.

mapyron@att.net Jun 25, 2014 2:30 PM (in response to SteveOrthPhoto)I know what you are talking about...that fly out menu pointed to all 3rd party add-ons.. I personally am very aggravated about updating to CC 2014. Yes, PS-CC is still on my computer, BUT NOW it isn't the default image program, so even though I don't use it, I still had to do a lot of work to change back the little Windows Default changes that came with the 2014. A lot of the add-ons -- and ones that I Purchased by the way - CANNOT be updated to the 2014 also...which I think we SHOULD have been notified about before we updated. Why on earth did Adobe update such a drastic change only about 9 months (?) after putting out the subscription software.?? And for several edditions of PS, there has been no trouble at all moving these 3rd party programs..makes me wonder if Adobe just wants us to use what they put out and nothing else???

Trevor.Dennis Jun 25, 2014 4:07 PM (in response to amzu1)Jeff Tranberry's CC 2014 tells you how to do it:
http://blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/2014/06/2014-release-of-photoshop-cc-faq.html#plugins
But I have to put my hand up and say I did exactly what he said not to do, and it worked fine. I just dragged the Topaz shortcuts from CC 2013 plug-ins, to CC 1024. I did the same with the Eye candy 7 folder, and Lazy Nezumi 8bli file, and had no problems. But I was probably just lucky.
All of the plug in sites I've checked, have info in their support pages on how to migrate to CC 2014.

Noel Carboni Jun 25, 2014 4:20 PM (in response to Trevor.Dennis)Trevor do any of those companies install stuff into your Photoshop folder (i.e., into the main folder, not the plug-ins subfolder)? I know OnOne, among others, does that. Such plug-ins rely on the extra stuff that isn't copied when you just copy the installed plug-ins.
It's always better to run installers.

Trevor.Dennis Jun 25, 2014 4:57 PM (in response to Noel Carboni)Noel, I just checked.
The Alien Skin folder I copied across to CC 2014\plug-ins had an .8li and .8bf file — less than 1Mb between them. There is also and Alien Skin folder in Program files with 42Mb of files, so the CC 2014 files must point to the main Eye Candy folder.
Topaz has just put shortcuts to the main Topaz folder in Photoshop\plug-ins for as long as I remember, but they did release new installers when CC came out. I suspect that did the same thing, and made it easier for folk uncomfortable delving into Program Files.
I also have a very old version of Flaming Pear flood which worked OK after doing nothing but copy an .8bi file into Program Files (86)\Adobe\.... (It only works in 32bit Photoshop)
I don't use OnOne or Nik filters.
