1. Re: Help using Audition to make "Enhanced Podcasts" for iTunes.
_durin_ Apr 7, 2012 10:07 AM (in response to EricCJunk)Hi Eric,
Enhanced Podcasts are an extension that is supported only by iTunes and iPod/iOS as far as I'm aware - though there may be other players or devices now that are compatible. Audition can certainly create the audio stream portion of the package, but the other necessary files are generally built in other tools. There's an excellent walkthrough available at http://blog.makezine.com/2008/02/29/how-to-make-enhanced-podc/
In essence, you create an XML flie that contains blocks detailing each chapter, image, and link you'd like to appear at specific timestamps during playback, then use an Apple tool to build a new file that combines these into a new, distributable file.
It certainly seems like there could be a nicer, cross-platform experience for creating these and while I haven't done too much investigation this morning to see what alternatives exist, I'll put this on the feature backlog for Audition for consideration and prioritization.
Have a great weekend,
Durin

william-donaldson Jun 27, 2014 9:22 PM (in response to _durin_)Hi there, Durin,
I found this post by googling and I was curious if the latest version of Audition CC 2014 has this feature in place. Google doesn't seem to be very helpful on the subject in any other way. It would be really handy to be able to do this chaptering using markers in Audition.
Thanks so much,
William

_durin_ Nov 5, 2014 2:54 PM (in response to EricCJunk)No, Audition hasn't added this functionality in just yet, but I've been keeping abreast of some new support that may make this simpler to integrate. I'll check the status of the feature request, and add some new notes to it so it bubbles up the backlog a bit.
