Help! Cannot run FP 14 Active X

Flash player has just stopped working, for no apparent reason? I have uninstalled and re-installed it yet it still won't work! It is in my uninstall programmes list, but not in my 'ALL programmes' list? Every website says I need to install it. I have even installed a plug-in for it? Running Win7 on IE11. Have installed Google Chrome to compensate and Flash player works on this but not on IE11? Can anyone help with this maddening problem, thanks

Flash Player is a browser add-on, not an executable program - you won't find it under your installed programs.  Check
