Web links don't publish in Flash

Embedded http links in Powerpoint (2000 edition) don't work when published with Presenter locally or on another website. Putting the web links in the Attachments folder don't work either. In both cases they fail even to open the Internet Explorer window. They do work when the powerpoint presentation is viewed as a normal slide show. Curiously links like mailto: xxx@yyy.com do work, ie, they open an outlook express window.

My experience is that linking stopped working with the last two weeks. I've tried reinstalling Presenter. I've also tried creating new presentations with fresh material. Any one had the same experience? Any suggestions?

I solved my own problem. Flash has a security control that will block website calls if not set properly

Go here to change the setting to "Always allow" or if you prefer, "Always ask".

http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.html

NB: the setting is done on the image on the above webpage - this is not a screen shot.
