Hello,

I currently have a Nook Simple Touch (Software version 1.2.1).  When I connect it to my MacBook Air ( Version 10.9.3) it does not appear in ADE (3.0), which in turn does allows me to transfer books. Any suggestions to trouble shoot is greatly appreciated.    I have attached a screenshot.

To add credence to this particular solution, this also turned out to be my issue:

after messing around on Google for an hour and trying all manner of deeply complex workarounds in a vain attempt to get my Simple Touch recognised on OS X 10.11.5, the answer here was what I needed all along.

Bum cable. Arghhh!
