1. Re: Any way to convert FH 11 files to AI CS2?
maeric Jul 2, 2014 11:48 AM (in response to dheydrick)I can't think of a direct way since the earliest Illustrator to open FreeHand files was CS3. The only way may be to download the trial FHMX and export the files to AI7 before the trial activation ends: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=freehand&loc=en

dheydrick Jul 2, 2014 2:11 PM (in response to maeric)Great suggestion. I should have mentioned that I had already gone down that route. The trial version of FreeHand MX 11.0.2 from Adobe is no longer available. Still on their website, but it's a circular link. Any other suggestions? Maybe I'll just purchase an unsupported FreeHand MX 11 copy online somewhere for ~ $29.

maeric Jul 2, 2014 3:47 PM (in response to dheydrick)I was going to say you could go offsite to get the trial but they seem to link back to Adobe's dead end. There have been lots of FreeHand trials on old disks that came with magazines. Buying unsupported may be the only way.

krygny Nov 17, 2014 8:52 AM (in response to dheydrick)Try downloading a trial version of AI (whatever the latest). I did this a couple years ago as an evaluation and I was able to open FreeHand MX/11 files. I don't know if you'll be able to export them back to CS2 but it's worth a try.
