nohands Jul 4, 2014 4:19 AM (in response to CHMprepress).eps is the standard logo format, also certain printers specifically request .eps if foil blocking etc. Obviously i know you can still get most of the same editable features in a PDF but lets face it there are some designers / art workers who don't know you can force open PDFs in illustrator.

CHMprepress Jul 4, 2014 4:57 AM (in response to nohands)Wel we have been using all transparant pdf for a decade now, so far no problems what so ever.
eps is really old scool and it flattens your file, so editing a eps is really not a good idea. Editing a pdf in Illustrator is also bad.
If you want a format you can use and edit, you need to save a pdf with Illustrator in it or you need a professional pdf editor.

nohands Jul 8, 2014 2:18 AM (in response to CHMprepress)Thanks for your reply however it doesn't really solve the original question. I am fully aware of the limitations of .eps in fact one of the reasons logo's are usually sent as eps is because it flattens the file, therefore limits the ability of third parties down the production line to change the logo. Also current clients and printers do still specifically request an eps, hence the original question.
