Adobe Muse CC 2014 keeps freezing.

This happens to me as well. It will let me open a page to edit and then I can't open any other pages. When I try to quit it gets stuck in the quit process and I have to force quit the whole application.

Mac or Windows? What OS version?

zizivlaun, what's the one function it lets you do before it freezes?

KPPhotoMT, does Design view work normally for the one page that was opened? Or are you referring to the Plan view opening?

Could you please send us the .muse file at muse-support@adobe.com along with a link to this thread? If the file is larger than 20Mb you can use a service like Adobe SendNow, Dropbox, WeTransfer, etc. Thanks.

Happening to me too. If I work on one page then save and close the tab then open a new page it's OK. But try opening a page with another open, it doesn't load and requires force quit!

muse is freezing for me sometimes on shut down, I have to open the task manager and force it to close... (end task)...

There's actually a lot of screwy stuff going on. The page opening issue comes when I am in Plan view. I double click a page and it opens in design view. (But with the new CC 2014 I've also got menu issues and text issues within design view: see this thread I started Cannot work on more than one page and menu shifting problems). When I go back to Plan view and click on a page to work on it, nothing happens. I can click on anything and nothing happens. I can close the page tab in design view and I am still unable to open any other pages to work on them. At this point, since I can't do anything in the program, I quit the program. It will close out of my project, but the entire program never quits, so I have to force quit the whole application. Such a bummer.

I've got the same problem.  Muse 2014 works OK, but when I close he application an empty Muse window stays open and requires Task Manager to close it.  It looks like a second instance of Muse was opened at some point and won't close.

I was helping another Muse 2014 user and their computer froze up in the middle of an operation. I don't remember what they were doing at the time, but most of the menu items were grayed out and the only choice was "open recent site".  Luckily, the recent changes had been saved.

Both machines are running Windows 8.1 - 64 bit.

Muse New version does the same thing on me... I have tried support and not really finding anything that helps so far. On startup it works GREAT! But as I keep working it starts to get slower and slower the more I do and then basically freezes. I was told to check to see if MUSE (this version) has a bit of a "memory Leak" I am not sure how this all works but if anything can tell me a fix I would love them long time!!! lol

Just noticed another anomaly with muse 2014 on a normal site viewed on an iPad (we try to do 1 version for all platforms if we can). When a page needs scrolling down to read text or whatever, when you reach the bottom it enlarges the page a bit. Like it's trying 'to bounce' like in Safari (which would be fine if it did bounce but not so good when it looks odd! Btw it's gone a bit quiet from adobe on all this ...any chance of putting the old version up again for download ...seeing as I deleted it from my system thinking the new version would be better.

add to that ...Been playing with a few tests ...it would seem it's the slideshow that makes it act up ...trying a few workarounds myself even though I do have a few deadlines to hit!!

I am also having issues with the software. The hyperlinks won't work. The program doesn't display properly and the widgets aren't working properly. I reinstalled twice. Blinking/Flashing issues.

I'm having similar problems, with lots of freezing and crashing. Force Quitting and Restarting doesn't help. I wonder if the problem happens after saving, but I can't say for sure. While I was trying again to get things working tonight, I started getting random messages about merging with the online Business Catalyst site; I've never gotten these messages before.

Hi all - I was able to talk to an Adobe engineer and was told that they are aware of the issue and are currently working on a patch, which will hopefully get rid of all the issues we're having. I was told mid-July for a release. Hoping that's the case and that it works because this is kind of a major problem to be experiencing...

I am having the same problems with Adobe Muse 2014 also. I too have been trying to open pages, cut and paste content from one page onto another or click on "design" . When I click the page it starts to load with a couple of images, but then the text content doesn't appear. And then the whirligig keeps spinning. To get out of it I have to force quit.  The site just has text and images, not any outside links yet.  I've read others say that deleting and re-installing Muse 2014 doesn't help.  I wish Muse 2014 didn't overwrite Muse Can I call you right back?.

Funny, when I just wrote in my reply (above) "Muse CC" my computer automatically translated that into "Can I call you right back?"   I only meant "Muse CC"  ;-)

Yip, i'm also having issues where if I open more than one page Muse CC freezes and either crashes to desktop itself or I have to force quit. If I work on a page in desiugn view, close it and open another page in design view it seems to be okay. However I like have multiple pages open so i can click on the tabs to compare placement betwetween pages.

I am experiencing this on both new sites creted in Muse CC and also sites that I have 'upgraded' to Muse CC.e I don't know when it is going to crash on me.

I am now hitting Save after every action because I don't know when it is going to crash on me.

Hopefully the fix that KPPhotoMT mentions will be fast in coming.

I also am having the annoying issue of being able to close my website file but unable to close the actual program unless I force quit.  Any ideas Adobe?

I love the Adobe Muse CC 2014 software but it has a crippling bug causing the program to freeze & crash.  I experience this when creating a page, duplicating a page, copying and pasting content, and when renaming pages, four scenarios that will independently cause the (Plan, Design, Preview, Publish and Manage) buttons to blink & continue flashing.  This is a new site and I need this software to WORK.  As of now, my file won't even recover itself because when it opens this now happens right away.  I expect to see Adobe to address this, fixed it, and quickly release an update, QUICKLY. 

I encourage anyone else who is experiencing this blinking and flashing to post below with a simple +1 so we can voice this to Adobe.

And just in case you need to see this problem in action I've provided a link below illustrating two scenarios when this has happened (creating a new page, and simply renaming a file).

I totally agree. Keeps freezing on shut down of muse. Have to force close 50% of the time.

Other than the freezing. It's great!

I did try contacting support the other day for a straight answer...gave up after 45mins on hold

Come on Adobe. Pull your finger out, and at least let us know what's going on!

Is there a problem with muse freezing?

And are you creating a patch / fix?

Two very simple questions, I'm yet to hear a response to from Adobe.

Try opening your project and "save as" with a new name.  After I do that, I can then open multiple pages and edit without it freezing.  Not sure if you'll have to continually do this.  Not really a fix, but a work around whilst there are deadlines to be met.

Fortunately, I've not had it freeze on me during editing...yet. Happens when I close Muse & "Save As". File saves ok, but then Muse stays open, causing me to force close it.

Not the worst thing in the world I know. But when it happens 6 times in an hour, it gets a bit frustrating.

Like I said. Other than that (and a few other small issues), I'm very impressed with Muse.

Ever time I turn around there are issues with muse, but these issues have been ongoing way to long... Come on Muse team having these same issues along with freezing at 60% every time and unable to update any of my websites....This is ridiculous pay way to much money every month to have to deal with this and not to even mention pissed off clients...

At least for me the Muse CC update that was posted last night (16/17th July), v2014.0.1.30  appears to have fixed the problems with Muse freezing, not allowing pages to open, etc.

David, I cannot find any Muse CC update that was posted July 16/17th, and when I ask creative cloud to find any updates it does not come up with any new releases for Muse either, are you sure there's an update? What do you mean by v2014.01.30?  Are you referring to the older Muse software that was just replied with Muse CC 2014?

When i go to About Us in Muse CC 2014 it says that it's version: Adobe Muse CC 2014.0 Release, 2014.0.0.328, CL 784653.

My version of Muse CC updated today to 2014.0.1.30. Not had a chance to try it out yet though to see if it has fixed my crashing / freezing issues.

I updated Muse CC 2014 to version: 2014.0.1.30 CL 785017 but I am STILL having the same problem with Muse just freezing up right when the program loads the file I was working on.  I spoke to Adobe's technical support only to find out they don't offer phone support for Muse, okay, yeah, well that should change and I told them that when i called adobe's headquarters. 

And after speaking with Adobe's headquarters, they've promised to call me back with someone who can help me with this problem, so we'll see if this attempt is worth anything.  I will resort to using their chat support and try that today.

I'll keep this forum posted on any progress I make, but in the mean time, I'm asking everyone else to continue pushing Adobe to FIX THIS PROBLEM.

Folks, I over the weekend I had e-mailed my latest Muse file to Marc who is a Quality Engineer on the Muse Team.  He promptly replied to me with a work-around for this blinking/freezing issue.  He must've dug through the code in my file because the one I sent him would've still been blinking & flashing and would've froze up on him right after opening my Muse file.  Anyway, he managed to get in there and the work-around solution he came up with was to:

TURN OFF THE "THUMBNAIL" CHECKBOX,

he says this is what seems to be causing Muse to freeze up.  So hopefully this advice will help anyone out right now who is using Muse CC 2014 until Marc and his team can produce a fix for this in a future update to the Muse CC 2014 software.

ADOBE: Keep up the great work and please keep our Muse community informed about any known issues and work-arounds, i'll be looking for these on the "Adobe Muse CC / Top Issues" site page (ehem, might be good to post THIS work-around there).

I am having similar issues.

I have been working on a site for the last few weeks. Everything was fine. But today Muse CC 2014 started to freeze every minute. Whenever I tabbed out of it or wanted to bring in new elements it freezes for about half a minute.

It really is a pain trying to work like this.

I have already re-installed Muse and re-named the project without any effect on the performance.

Just installed 2014.1 and when I open an old site (converted) I get a warning dialog-box telling me assets need to be updated/relinked, I click "OK" and the program freezes and I have to force a shutdown, all my other projects don't have this issue. 

When I click "cancel" it opens fine???

Try unchecking 'Thumbnail' from the site plan (The checkbox in the top left between Master Badge and the size slider). There seems to be a bug where it takes ages for the thumbnail to update the changes.

Turning off the thumbnail image will only show white thumbnails but this worked for me.
