drives missing when using Link Media

Premiere CC 2014 is not seeing two of my RAID drives when I try to Link Media that went offline. It's a new menu box now, and I can't find any way to make it see two of my RAID drives.

But Premiere CC 2014 can totally see those drives, because I'm editing with other media on them. And I can see those drives in Import.

Import menu box is on the left. Link Media is on the right. Drives missing.

Any thoughts? Is this a bug? I've already done a bunch of editing and need to be able to Relink 197 clips, not Import them and start over...

Mac OS 10.7.5

Oh, and in Premiere CC, the Link Media menu is the same as the import menu, so this is new to 2014...

Hi jon,

Try rebooting if you haven't done that already.

Is your problem RAID a software or hardware RAID?

What's under the "Untitled" folder in the Link Media dialog? Is there a matching entry in the Import dialog?

Thanks, Jeff. Have rebooted multiple times. The two drives are both hardware RAID 5.

I can Import from these drives as well as edit from them. But when I use Link Media (after having moved media to a new folder in one of the drives), Premiere doesn't see the drives when I use Locate. If I use Replace Footage, I can indeed see the two drives and replace each clip one by one.

I also have two external RAID 0 drives that Premiere CAN see when I use Link Media. But it can't see the two RAID 5 drives when try to locate offline media with Link Media.

Found the same problem here. It could be the that Link Media menu cannot see drive partitions that are very large (these are 9TB RAIDs):

Good find! My biggest drives are 4TB, so if it is a partition size issue I would never have stumbled on it here. It's probably worth a bug report to Adobe:

I found the answer. I partitioned one of the 9TB RAIDs into 2 partitions (4.5TB each) and now Premiere can see that drive in Link Media.

So it would seem that this is simply a drive size limitation in the Link Media function.

Thanks, Jeff. Yep, I've reported the issue, so we'll see. Pretty easy fix, but a little clunky. Luckily I'm at the front end of a doc project and didn't have this come up at the end...

I have a problem like this with OWC drives... I used their drive utility and it would not show up in Media Browser. If I used the Mac Disk Utility all was good. 12TB each.

OWC are the drives I'm using and I did indeed use their drive utility (which was slickly easy). I did re-stripe with Mac Disk Utility, but as two smaller partitions, so I'll try again with one partition. Thanks!
