How in the world do I get rid of this? (Mac)

I have Creative Cloud installed on my Mac, but that has caused this icon to appear on my menu bar when there are updates available for my Adobe software (Photoshop CC). I have tried getting rid of this icon by uninstalling Photoshop CC and by uninstalling Creative Cloud - somehow it is still there!

This is the icon in question:

It may be stupid, but it annoys me immensely. I have looked through the settings and cannot seem find an option to switch it off.

Disable the update notification icon for Adobe Update Manager.
Launch the Adobe application that shows an available update in Adobe Update Manager.
Choose Help > Check for Updates.
When the Adobe Update Manager launches, choose Preferences.
Disable the update notification icon. Adobe Update Manager is still functional, but it no longer shows an icon.

So I will have to redownload Photoshop CC just to tell the Update Manager that I don't want to get updates from it anymore?
Even though I do not have Photoshop installed on my Mac, it still says that I need updates. I uninstalled Photoshop in order to make the notifications stop.

EDIT:
That worked. I can't say that I think complicating such a simple thing is good software design, but thanks nonetheless!
