1. Re: Why do extensions appear in Ext Mgr, specifically for (2014) but fail to appear in the Extension menu in th program itself?
Carl Sun Jun 23, 2014 7:46 PM (in response to MPDAEF)Extension Manager only copies files (optional edit some files) to the destination according to the mxi/manifest file in the extension package. If an extension declares it support a specific prodcut version and this product version is installed, Extension Manager will install it. Actually Extension Manager doesn't know whether this extension really works in this product version. It's the responsibility of the extension author and product itself. Most extension author didn't specify maxmimum supported product version in the mxi/manifest file, so Extension Manager will install these extensions for PS CC 2014, but PS CC 2014 will not load them if they are Flash based. Actually, I didn't know PS CC 2014 removed Flash support until last Friday, just like you.

2. Re: Why do extensions appear in Ext Mgr, specifically for (2014) but fail to appear in the Extension menu in th program itself?
MPDAEF Jun 23, 2014 8:06 PM (in response to Carl Sun)Thanks, Carl. What you have described is an obvious mess. I am a
photographer and don't know anything about which items are Flash based, for
example. I've used items only from the Adobe Add-Ons download page, over
which Adobe exercises at least some control. Adobe could have updated the
version labels or at worst posted a warning message saying that most of
them are not compatible with the new 2014 releases. I guess that's
expecting too much from Adobe! As it is, there's no way to know which ones
work except to download them and see what happens. That's a waste of time,
and it fills up the Ext Mgr with lists of useless extensions. Bah, humbug.

LeechJoseph Jun 24, 2014 6:01 PM (in response to MPDAEF)I have similar problems. I am a photographer and use Add-on Adobe Watermark for all photos posted on the web. APS CC 2014 has problem and the extension menu is grey out. Adobe Extension Manager version 7.2.04 seems to be working fine with details showing that Add-ons have been loaded to APS CC 2014, APS CC 64 and APS CC32. Fortunately, APS CC is working fine with the latest Adobe Watermark which have been updated to version 2.2.3 and stated to be supporting APS CC 2104. Creative Cloud Desktop is set to Sync-On and set to run as Administrator. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Extension Manager and yet extension menu is grey out on APS CC 2014. An urgent update would be in order. System Window 7 64 bit.

5. Re: Why do extensions appear in Ext Mgr, specifically for (2014) but fail to appear in the Extension menu in th program itself?
MPDAEF Jun 24, 2014 6:59 PM (in response to LeechJoseph)As soon as you find and download an add-on that actually works in PS 2014
(e.g., the new Kuler panel for 2014), then "Extensions" won't be grayed out
any more. It isn't live now because you don't have any extensions in it.
That won't help you with Watermark, though, because it apparently isn't
supported in the 2014 app.

LeechJoseph Jun 24, 2014 9:56 PM (in response to MPDAEF)Well go to Adobe Add-On and it says that Adobe Watermark is compatible with Photoshop CC 2014, CC, and CS6., version 2.2.3 by Russell Brown.

LeechJoseph Jun 24, 2014 10:11 PM (in response to MPDAEF)It is strange, I tried to download Kuler panel for 2014 many times and there is no download or install button, it says Free Get this download for CS6.

11. Re: Why do extensions appear in Ext Mgr, specifically for (2014) but fail to appear in the Extension menu in th program itself?
MPDAEF Jun 25, 2014 6:50 AM (in response to LeechJoseph)The Adobe add-ons page(s) seem to change daily. There's now a reasonable
"compatibility" section for each add-on, which was not there or not updated
until now. I think I'll try re-enabling these add-ons, and failing that,
removing and re-downloading them. Eventually, they should work. This
seems to have been one of the really buggy places in the latest update.
Hopefully, it will get sorted sooner rather than later.
I do find that the "extensions" menu will not open unless I have a
file
any fileopened in PS, by the way.Gail

MPDAEF Jun 25, 2014 7:06 AM (in response to LeechJoseph)Well, dis- and re-enabling doesn't do anything. And DON'T remove anything,
because the Add-Ons page thinks you still acquired it and so you can't
re-acquire it.
ADOBE: Some tech really needs to sort this out for us. PLEASE.

LeechJoseph Jun 25, 2014 7:15 AM (in response to MPDAEF)Thanks for helping. Adobe Watermark is very important for photographers like myself and I am sure it will work soon. For your information, Kuler panel for 2014 can now be installed and Extension is activated. The Free is now properly linked.

MPDAEF Jun 25, 2014 7:28 AM (in response to LeechJoseph)Yes. The only extensions that appear to be live in my PS 2014 are Floating Adj and the latest Kuler. (I can always access the others by re-opening the photos in CC, but what a nuisance!
I re-installed the Waterclour Assistant ext. that I had removed as a test. I used the additional download instructions on the add-on's page. Still no joy, though. Don't know what else to try, and I don't have time to do a chat or phone call now. Maybe later.

15. Re: Why do extensions appear in Ext Mgr, specifically for (2014) but fail to appear in the Extension menu in th program itself?
MPDAEF Jun 25, 2014 7:43 AM (in response to Carl Sun)Carl,
Since a number of us are having trouble getting extensions (compatible with
2014) to appear in the extensions menu in PS 2014, even though they are
listed and enabled in the Ext Mgr, I am wondering whether it would be
useful to remove and re-install the Ext Mgr. CC. (I have the latest
version, apparently.) Perhaps there's something wrong with it and
extensions don't install properly??
Or, if you have any other suggestions, they'd be appreciated.

LeechJoseph Jun 25, 2014 10:09 PM (in response to MPDAEF)Hi Gail, it does not work. I tried yesterday and again today, i.e. uninstalled Extension Manager via Programs and Features, reboot the laptop and launch Creative Cloud for reinstalling Extension Manager. Kuler for PS 2014 appears in Extension menu, but not Exchange and Adobe Watermark although they are listed. I have also removed and reinstalled Adobe Watermark and same results, appears in Extension Manager but not in PS Extension menu. System Window 7 64bit. Thank you.

Carl Sun Jun 25, 2014 10:32 PM (in response to MPDAEF)It doesn't help to remove and re-install Extension Manager CC. Extension Manager CC has copied all files to the destination during extension installation, but PS CC 2014 wouldn't load them. We didn't get notification about this change beforehand. we are discussing what we can do to mitigate this issue.

18. Re: Why do extensions appear in Ext Mgr, specifically for (2014) but fail to appear in the Extension menu in th program itself?
Carl Sun Jun 26, 2014 2:22 AM (in response to MPDAEF)The add-ons site allows you to remove-reinstall as many times as you like. You can also refer to https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1504330 to directly download the ZXPs from the add-ons site and manually install them with Extension Manager.
As for Kuler, a new update should be very soon available.

19. Re: Why do extensions appear in Ext Mgr, specifically for (2014) but fail to appear in the Extension menu in th program itself?
LeechJoseph Jun 26, 2014 3:30 AM (in response to Carl Sun)Hi Carl, The changes are confusing. Please note that on the add-ons site, there is no download button on that enable download and manual installation via Extension Manager. There is a FREE button on the extension apps selected and that will lead to installation via Creative Cloud. Adobe Watermark is one of the main extension for Photographers and I notice that changes have been made to the compatibility, now PS CC 2014 is not listed. For my information, is Adobe Watermark going to be made compatible for PS CC 2014 on an urgent basis. Kuler is working fine for me in PS CC 2014. Thank you

20. Re: Why do extensions appear in Ext Mgr, specifically for (2014) but fail to appear in the Extension menu in th program itself?
MPDAEF Jun 26, 2014 6:54 AM (in response to Carl Sun)Thanks for the response. It's good to know this is being worked on. I
assume you'll post the fix on this page when you figure it out.
FYI, the add-ons page doesn't register the removal of an add-on from the
Ext Mgr. The add-on itself on the web page continues to say "acquired,"
so there's no option to re-download it except by using the generic download
instructions at the bottom of the site ( but that works fine).

David Rogers Jun 26, 2014 11:58 AM (in response to LeechJoseph)I have it now. It does seem to be a fluctuating site.
I also notice that a lot of screenshots from PC's are not clear at all. Interesting fact for Jive folks.

MPDAEF Jun 28, 2014 1:10 PM (in response to Carl Sun)Hope you guys are still working on this. I got a Cloud desktop notice today that Ext Mgr had an update. After doing the update, though, there doesn't seem to be any change in behavior of Window>Extensions in PS 2014. And I believe an extension I tried to download for a test did not show up at all in Ext Mgr.
This is FYI.

Xiaoyi Tong Jun 29, 2014 2:45 AM (in response to MPDAEF)Hi MPDAEF,
If the extension was installed from "Add-On WebSite" of Adobe Creative Cloud. you have to wait for the new release of Creative Cloud client( should be ready in a few days ), and navigate to the page where you purchased the extension, click "remove" and wait five minutes, and click "install" again.
If the extension was installed by Extension Manager, you need to uninstall it by Extension Manager, and install the latest Extension Manager patch 7.2.1, and install this extension again.
Thanks,
Xiaoyi

new "client" (?) Is released and what, if anything, we need to do with it

MPDAEF Jul 3, 2014 9:02 PM (in response to Xiaoyi Tong)Hello, Xiaoyi,
Is this still not working even after "a few days" and a new version of
Desktop app? I have followed all the instructions above--and then
some--but nothing has changed. I still have only 2 items in the extensions
window in PS 2014 (Kuler and Floating Adj). Also, the Desktop CC app keeps
telling me it has installed a number of add-ons, over and over again. My
home screen shows an endless list of these things, but they aren't actually
installed.
Any idea when this might get fixed?
Also, how does one control which app or which version (say, CC or CC2014)
the download will go to?
Thanks.

Ramigrafx Jul 11, 2014 4:48 PM (in response to MPDAEF)Now 12th July. Just got home after 3 weeks of holiday and Adobe still have not sorted out this mess. I have the same problem, Extension manager shows all of the extensions on PS CC 64 and 32 bit which show up in their respective programs. List shows those that should be in PS CC 2014 64 but Extensions is blanked out in program.
Come on Adobe, pull your finger out!!!!

MPDAEF Jul 12, 2014 2:11 PM (in response to Trimmertop)Kuler will download and work normally, as will a few others. Many
exrensions listed compatible with 2014 will not. Extension menu will often
open even if grayed out. I assume these various problems are being sorted
out--at least I hope so. It is very tiresome.

30. Re: Why do extensions appear in Ext Mgr, specifically for (2014) but fail to appear in the Extension menu in th program itself?
Ramigrafx Jul 12, 2014 3:57 PM (in response to MPDAEF)I agree with others. Adobe Kuler and also Adobe paper texture are compatible as I have just downloaded them an they work.
However others which are supposed to be compatible viz.. photo edges bundle, Free Star Stacker, Canvas Wrap, Snow globe do not appear in PS 2014 even though showing in Extension manager under PS 2014. These were already acquired before downloading PS 2014 if that has anything to do with it.
Biggest disappointment is Adobe Watermark not being compatible as I use this for all of my web images, and on clients preview images.
