pdf converter gave me garbage, now what?

I tried to convert a somewhat fuzzy pdf file (smudges around the text) to print and all I got was garbage.

I'm on a Mac, OS 10.6.8, converted to a Word doc.

What do I do now?

If I can't get this to convert, is there any way to cancel my subscription?

Are you using Acrobat or one of the online subscription services like PDF Pack or ExportPDF to convert to Word?
