MSVCR100.DLL Crashes Premiere CS6 upon starting Media Export

    Shao Lung Community Member

A very strange error has popped up on my system. I have never had any problems with exporting hours of media, and have installed no codecs. Every function in Premiere CS6 works perfectly, but when I go to export, Premiere closes due to a "Serious Error". Upon viewing the System Events, the application faults due to MSVCR100.dll. Here is the text of the message:

Probably way too much information, but more in troubleshooting is better, eh? I even tried restoring a backup of my system when I believed the editor exported correctly, but the same occurs. I went as far as to look at the DLL file in question a little deeper, and it appears the file on my backup - although it reports it is the same version - is slightly different in file size. They report the same file size in properties, but when copying the backup is 829,264 bytes and the file on C: drive 773,968. Even when I restored the backup and erased my HD completely, the file sizes are discrepant between the file on my backup and what is hosted on C:\windows\system32 folder. I cannot export media AT ALL from Premiere, but I can export stills and every function is perfect. I can import and begin rendering sequences in Adobe Media Encoder with no problems, but I have never set up bit rates, selected MRQ, etc in Media Encoder and am unsure if that is even possible. I'm sure it is, but I have never done it. That could be my work around for now. Knowing that MSVCR100.dll is a C+ and NET component I have tried going to http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=26999 (vcredistx64.exe) and installing but I get a report that "I have a newer version already installed" and I cannot continue the process. If I delete the MSVCR100.dll (in safe mode) and restart Premiere, it will just hang at the splash screen. So - with this dissertation - begins the discussion. I am hesitant to reinstall PPRo or my CS6 Suite due to my plethora of plugins installed, and I have two projects that their Timelines are rapidly approaching. I could probably copy the PLUGIN folders and the MEDIA CORE folder to another HD and replace after reinstall (save I would probably have to reinstall fewer software packages this way) and perhaps this would work. Ideas? Has anyone seen this with Premiere Pro CS6 before?

Here is an image shot of my copying process and what appears to be a different filesize; I am hopeful that someone with CS6 will check their system and report ehat they believe is the correct one:
