Are you trying to create a file inside the default "Getting Started" project?  You won't be able to do that because this folder is inside the app's install location, and the OS prevents you from modifying anything there without admin privileges.  If you open a different folder (File > Open Folder, or click the "Getting Started" heading in the sidebar and choose Open Folder), then you should be able to make a new file successfully.  Please let us know if not.

          Hope that helps!

You need to pick a different folder, other than Getting Started.  If you pick a folder located inside the Edge Code install location (such as Getting Started), you will not be able to create any new files or folders there.  If you pick a folder somewhere else, such as inside your Documents folder tree, then it should work.
