i need help downloading flash player (Mac)

so when the download gets to 60% it tells me i need to exit out of safari, which i already am. I've shut off and restarted my computer 2 times.. help?

You need to close the Safari process, not just the browser window.

If you don't know how, restart your computer, then run the downloaded installer before doing anything else.
