Can this be done using Acrobat Pro XI?

    wallstreet123456@yahoo.co

I am interested in buying Adobe Acrobat Pro XI and wanted to know if I can do the follwoing with it before I purchase it.

We receive forms in the mail that need to be completed and either faxed, emailed or mailed back. I would like to scan these forms into my computer and complete them using my computer, save them and e-mail the completed forms back.

Is this something that can be done or will I get an error message that reads something like "Acrobat could not perform recognition (OCR) on this page because this page contains no renderable text"?

I have never used this program before but have read where people scanned a form and received the above message and could not complete the form.

      Thank you in advance,

      Steven

You do not want to perform OCR. You either want to do Form Recognition (which is overkill for a one off form) or use Text comments/Annotations which work fine for forms most forms but really almost any graphic program will work as well.

I agree. Just open the scanned form and use one of the text tools or add your own text fields to do your entry. Long time back I use to enter a scanned copy of a form in the header of a document with exact line spacing. I was then able to enter the needed info in the body of the document and print the file. You can do a similar thing with Acrobat or add the form fields yourself. You could try doing a searchable OCR of the scanned form. That will leave the original form as is. Then see if you can do form recognition to create the fields automatically. Never tried it, but might be worth a try.
