ocean_alexander Jun 13, 2012 11:24 AM (in response to liam.slack)So on my Mac on the top you have a grey bar all the way across from led to right. I thought that was call the menu bar and some of the items I downloaded from the app store run on that bar. Such as friendly Facebook or logmein. That is what I was talking about. I'm not sure if it the menu bar that gives the issue or the particular software. But I know for sure that "friendly facebook" is not so friendly to Photoshop CS5 :-)

liam.slack Jul 6, 2012 10:35 AM (in response to ocean_alexander)Well, I'm still getting no joy with the Wacom, so I've had to pull it. It's a tremendous tool, and I loved using it, but the jumping through hoops has just gotten to be too much.
Perhaps if Wacom is going to be silent on the issue I'll investigate another manufacturer. As of now, my tablet just sits here.
Oh well.

kaylab111 Jan 14, 2013 4:23 PM (in response to liam.slack)I am running Win7 and CS6, no tablet, and I'm also having this problem. It's very annoying.
I think it only happens when I have multiple things selected, but I'm not sure.

vivavivalunaluna Aug 27, 2013 1:26 AM (in response to TheFlash12345)Thank you, that's a nice workaround! I have the same problem the poster had - randomly, the trackpad stops working with the move tool and objects snap back to where they were when I try to move them, even when my Wacom Bamboo and stylus are across the room in my computer bag! (Macbook Pro unibody, OS 10.6.8). Restarting helps but then the problem returns. Fine when I've got my tablet plugged in because the tablet will work with the move tool, but, like right now when it's not plugged in and I don't want to restart PS, I'm SOL - saved by your suggestion! Interesting that "scott w" with an Inutos tablet had the same problem (his solution didn't work for me).

vivavivalunaluna Aug 27, 2013 1:30 AM (in response to TheFlash12345)Yes, the arrow keys work, but what a waste of time!!! Good to know about that but the Free Transform (command t) solution is more efficient.

Jeffrey Tranberry Aug 27, 2013 7:05 AM (in response to vivavivalunaluna)Do you have the wacom latest driver installed? (what version of the driver are you running?)
Did you try this solution that worked for other users: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4256189#4256189

128. Re: Move Tool in CS5
liam.slack Aug 27, 2013 7:18 AM (in response to vivavivalunaluna)Agreed, CMD+T is more efficient. More efficient still would be the tools operating as they should. My tablet has been in a drawer for months now thanks to these issues, and I just picked up a new client that is going to require some serious hand drawing. Odd that at the same time this thread has resurrected.
These issues hardly seem insurmountable. I just don't believe it to be a priority on Adobe's or Wacom's part. So here we sit...

elcado Sep 27, 2013 11:16 AM (in response to Jeffrey Tranberry)I have just started experiencing this with Photoshop CC, Mac Pro, intuos 4. Command-T is not a good solution because I don't want to move these particular objects off the pixel grid, though still want the ability to move off the pixel grid sometimes. Updating to the newest intuos driver doesn't help. Command+ Command- seems to temporarily fix the problem.

s.mahn Oct 1, 2013 3:54 PM (in response to Jeffrey Tranberry)Jeffrey, what solution specifically are you pointing to?
What stood out for me was this post from 16 months ago:
I'm currently in communication with some folks from Wacom. We are able to reproduce the issue (both at Adobe and Wacom) and are currently investigating.
So, what have you all come up with? What's the fix?

131. Re: Move Tool does not move layer when dragging with Wacom tablet
Harpua42 Dec 13, 2013 10:25 AM (in response to hirshmon)3 years and this problem still exists? I too have been suffering from the snap back bug for a long time.
I'm running OSX 10.9, Wacom Intuos 5 with latest driver, Photoshop CS6 with most recent updates.
After reading all these responses, I decided to look a little more into what exactly is happening.
I was trying to drag a group with several layers and the entire group snaped back. So I tried moving a layer within the group and it worked fine --there is NO issue with the way Wacom tablet is working. I went back to the group and tried again and it snapped back again. I then went and tried to move each layer within the group and found a single layer that would snap back (all other layers worked correctly). This offending layer was the only one with a layer mask. The layer mask was locked. Once I unlocked the layer mask or deleted it, the layer itself and also entire group would move freely as expected with no snap back.

132. Re: Move Tool does not move layer when dragging with Wacom tablet
chris gentry Aug 14, 2014 7:59 AM (in response to Harpua42)Started happening to me on my home computer. Luckily not happening here.
I am using a intuos 2 tablet (I know it is old but still does what I need it to do so upgrade for me) and CS5 (which is in the same boat as the wacom. It does what I need).
Tried every suggestion in this thread and nothing works. I have no layer masks on the files. Curious thing is when I move the layers they snap right back but not in the exact location. I really like how the two companies are pointing their fingers at each other and years later no solution. Very professional.

Jeffrey Tranberry Aug 14, 2014 2:59 PM (in response to chris gentry)Extensions usually show up here in System Preferences:

Try booting in safemode to disable system utilities: http://blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/2012/07/photoshop-basic-troubleshooting-steps-to-fix-mos t-issues.html#SafeMode

135. Re: Move Tool does not move layer when dragging with Wacom tablet
chris gentry Aug 14, 2014 6:30 PM (in response to Jeffrey Tranberry)will take a look this evening and see what happens. I have a few things installed. Problem is that it only happens when using my Wacom tablet and it definitely needs it's software to function correctly.
Think I got it fixed by deleting the wacom preferences at least for now.

136. Re: Move Tool does not move layer when dragging with Wacom tablet
patrickplaggenborg Oct 2, 2014 4:51 AM (in response to hirshmon)I have the snapback issue as well.
Started happening to me only recently, Photoshop CC 2014. Random occasions. Using a pen on my Wacom Intuos 5.
When it happens:
- Doesn't happen using my trackpad.
- Does happen using my pen.
Looks like a processing power thing as well:
- When moving a layer/group, and keep it in the new position for a few seconds before releasing it, it does stay in that new position.
- Releasing the layers right after Photoshop renders them in the new position is too early. I then get the snapback problem.
