1. Re: Quick question about exporting
Steven L. Gotz Aug 16, 2014 12:22 PM (in response to Noxid)First of all, I usually spend three times that on my editing computers. Or more.
That said, that is not the problem with the exports. It might make it slow, but I doubt it would reduce the quality.
There is no way to avoid recompression unless you use a certain subset of codecs that allow for smart render, and your screen capture program probably does not record in those formats.
Post a screen shot of your export settings. We might be able to spot the problem. Exporting to YouTube usually starts by using one of the YouTube presets and then tweaking a bit. I generally reduce the keyframe distance to at least one per second. I often increase the bitrate, and I make sure to upgrade the Profile and Level.
I posted a screen shot of my normal setting in this thread: How to export the same original video, only cut shorter?

2. Re: Quick question about exporting
Noxid Aug 16, 2014 6:26 PM (in response to Steven L. Gotz)Here is a screen shot of what I have been exporting as a test the original file was recorded as lossless. So when I view it on my pc it looks amazing then when I export it looks amazing..But when I upload it, it looks terrible even when I put it on 1080p. From what I have heard is youtube cuts everything in half so the bitrate drops from 50 to 25 which should still be good for 1080p.. If youtube actually does cut it in half. I followed youtubes advanced video profiles but it still looks bad after upload. again the only thing i can think of is the fact that it was compresses while I recorded it then after I recorded then when youtube processed. I could be wrong but thats the theory I have right now. And thanks for the response.
