Been asked to insert interactive charts into our Digital Editions. Our interactives are javascript based and call out XML or JSON files for data. Is this supported?

Do you want to modify Adobe Digital Editions or the EPUB or PDF file that you are opening in Adobe Digital Editions?

I don't think EPUB 2 supports interactive elements (or javascript) but EPUB 3 does have support for these. Currently EPUB 3 is not supported in Adobe Digital Editions. I don't think Adobe Digital Editions supports these features in PDF either.

Yes, it does because you do not have the ability to modify Adobe Digital Editions as it is an application written by Adobe and they do not distribute the source code to that application.
