Re-authorize under Wine

I currently have installed Adobte Digital Editions 2.0 (ADE) under Windows. I have read about the possibility of re-authorizing the ADE.

I would like to de-authorize the ADE application under Windows and install and authorize ADE under Linux using Wine, in the same computer. ADE has been reported to work well under Wine.

So, my question is the next: can I do this without reducing the number of available devices I still can authorize ? This questions may indeed be related with the way ADE identifies a device for authorizing it. How does it do it ? Does it use the MAC address ?
