why am I asked to reinstall flash player in safari over and over

This has been going on for weeks.  I have downloaded and installed the update for Flash Player at least six times, but every time I go to a page with Flash, I have to do it again, and it still doesn't work.  What could be causing this?

I am having the same problem with W7, SP 1 when I open AOL or Firefox.  I have completely removed it and reinstalled it to no avail.  Why has no one answered Mac Video Lady's question and can anyone help me with mine?
