Although version 14.0.0.176 was released recently, I could not find the Install Manager, which allows silent installs on the Mac. Has anyone been able to find it?

Thank you very much.

Hi Fernando,

Thank you for the additional information.

If you haven't done so yet, you'll need to obtain a license (it's free) to distribute Flash Player within your organization.  You can apply for the license at this link, Adobe Flash Player Distribution | Adobe.

Hi Fernando,

Are you looking to distribute Flash Player within your organization, or just to install silently on your system?

Hi Maria,

I want to distribute it within our organization.

Users do not have administrator rights to update software by themselves. When there is a new version of flash player, we usually create an installer with the Install Manager and push it to clients.

We prepare the installer so that

     a) Installation will be silent

     b) Users won't be asked for updates; we want administrators to manage updates

     c) The installation will use the loginwindow's context to avoid a crash that historically would happen.

Thank you very much for looking into it.

Fernando.

The Flash Player Adminitrator's Guide contains valuable information for customers who distribute, and administer, Flash Player within their organization.  In your case, for OS X clients, we provide a PKG installer that you can install silently, either via terminal or software distribution software such as Casper.

The guide is posted at Adobe Flash Player Administration Guide for Flash Player 14 | Adobe Developer Connection.  Chapter 1 contains information on obtaining the distribution license, chapter 2 contains information on the Flash Player Environment and chapter 3 contains information on the various supported installation methods (for Windows and Mac).  The remainder of the Guide contains various information on Administration (ch. 4), User-Configured Settings (ch. 5), and Security Considerations (ch.6).  I highly recommend you review the Guide before distributing Flash Player within your organization.

Hi Maria,

The Install Manager was not posted where I used to get it, but looking the admin guide you mentioned I was able to find it.

Concerning the distribution license, we already have it.

Thank you very much for your support.
