1. Re: Deactivate Captivate 7
Varun Kalra Aug 12, 2013 1:49 PM (in response to jmccsteve)Hi there,
Now, you need to launch Captivate 7, click on help > Sign out.
After signing out, you will be able to activate software on another computer.
Thanks.

bmoreinis Aug 23, 2014 9:26 AM (in response to jmccsteve)I click help/sign out and nothing happens.
I am retiring an older computer and unable to install on the new. I am afraid that if I uninstall the program I'll have the same issue.
Help?

3. Re: Deactivate Captivate 7
Varun Kalra Aug 23, 2014 9:38 AM (in response to bmoreinis)It might be a network or firewall issue on the older computer which is not letting it to deactivate.
Please try connecting with a LAN or check after temporary disabling the firewall if possible.
If you have a subscription, then while installing cp 7 on another system, it will prompt you whether you want to sign out from previous conputers.
Let me know if that works.
Regards,

bmoreinis Aug 23, 2014 1:45 PM (in response to Varun Kalra)Thanks, Varun!
I am online, connected to the network, but when I click "Sign out bram@empowered-teacher.com" nothing happens.
Is there any other way to deactivate? I can't uninstall the software from the old Vista computer from the control panel either....
Maybe if there was a file I could delete?

5. Re: Deactivate Captivate 7
Varun Kalra Aug 23, 2014 2:08 PM (in response to bmoreinis)There is no such file on the system to deactivate Captivate.
After clicking on Help > Sign out, you should get this window > http://prntscr.com/4frhxe Are you getting that?
In case of Activation and deactivation issues, it is sometimes recommended to close all adobe apps, and rename the hosts file, and then retry after launching Captivate.
Location for hosts file, Windows: C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\ hosts
MAC: Finder > Go > Go to folder > /private/etc hosts
rename that to hostsOLD
Also, try installing the newer version of Adobe Application manager: Adobe - Adobe Application Manager : For Windows : Adobe Application Manager For Windows
http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774 For MAC.
Let me know how it goes.

bmoreinis Aug 24, 2014 3:52 PM (in response to Varun Kalra)The first two steps didn't do it ... but re-installing the Application Manager did! Thank you, Varun.
