Ok, so Windows 7 64bit SP1, IE 10, McAfee VirusScan 8.8.0, logged in with domain admin account.

Flash 14.0.0.145 was installed and working just fine. Updated using Adobe - Install a different version of Adobe Flash Player during the install it has the error that the registration failed. So going to Uninstall Flash Player | Windows to uninstall and then try the install again with the same results. So after looking what to try next I did the uninstall again and then tried the Adobe Flash Player Distribution | Adobe MSI version here and it gets the error 1722.

So what is happening here how can I resolve this issue? This is happening to all the boxes I have attempted to update so far, so something global happening in our environment.

Ok, so our McAfee Virus Scan Enterprise 8.8 was the issue. We disabled it for the install and all worked finally.

Hello,

Please provide the FlashInstall.log files located at C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash AND C:\Windows\SysWow64\Macromed\Flash.  They'll probably be fairly large so you can share them using the instructions here How to share a document, instead of posting them within your comment.

Great.  I'm glad to hear you identified the source and were able to install Flash Player successfully.
