An error occurred when attempting to change modules

I have just bought a Mac and have downloaded lightroom and every time I try and open it I get the 'An error occurred when attempting to change modules. message... I have tried deleting the preferences folder, I have tried changing read and write permissions, I have tried creating a new catalogue and nothing works! Very frustrated because I'm dying to use it!

The same thing is happening to me. I have tried everything Adobe said to do but nothing. I'm using Creative Cloud if that matters.

Been through every step of that help topic, have even uninstalled the cloud and reinstalled...no luck yet
