we are using IE 10, when we try to download the latest Flashplayer it seems to download ok but at the 68% mark when it tries to register it fails and give the error message - ERROR: Failed to Register.  We removed the old version so now we have no way of getting a Flash file to run. What do we need to do to get the current version to run.

We are running on Windows 7

Hello,

Please provide the FlashInstall.log file located in C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash.  If you have a 64-bit OS, please also provide the file from C:\Windows\SysWow64\Macromed\Flash.  The files may be fairly large so you can upload them following the directions here, How to share a document.

Before running the reset_fp15.bat file  can you run through these instructions and send the flashreport.txt report to ccampbel@adobe.com

  1. Download “SetACL (executable version)_2.zip” from: http://bit.ly/WEppuY
  2. Extract the appropriate “SetACL.exe” from either the 64 bit or 32 bit folder and place it alongside the flash_report.bat file.
  3. Download and extract the flash_report.zip attached to this post
  4. Verify that the setacl.exe and flash_report.bat file are in the same folder
  5. Right click flash_report.bat and select “Run as administrator” (run time should only be a few seconds)
  6. Please post or email the flashreport.txt file that was created when the file was run

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Philip,

The install log file you posted was from the 32-bit location.  Can you post the file from the 64-bit location (C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash) as well?

Thank you.
